SU8: Longitude screens not bright

The screens of the Longitude are no longer bright after SU8.

  • Windows 10, i7 10700k, 64 GB RAM, RTX 3080 (all stock voltages)
  • Community folder is empty.
  • Update + in game content all installed.

See image, ‘dim knobs’ are set to max. Anyone has the same?

UPDATE (additional issue occured after trying to resolve this issue)
After trying to update the drivers of NVIDIA to the latest drivers (511.x) I now have consistent CTD’s. This update is not going really smooth for me.

UPDATE 2
After activating ‘Safe Mode’ the instant CTD’s seem to be gone.

UPDATE 3
CTD’s still occur with the Longitude. Easy reproduction: choose Longitude (stock) and select a runway for departure… This process of updates feels really tedious. After each ‘forced’ update my sim is now crippled. I hope the update process will soon change to more frequent/smaller updates.

I just posted about this also now I saw this I deleted mine. Yes I have the same problem :frowning:

Roll back to previous driver.
No issues on the 3080 Xtreme 511.17 without geforce experience.
HAGS and variable refresh rate - off.

The screen problem existed with the stock version of the longitude; the mod below conquered it for me when i reinstalled in:

Asobo Cessna Citation Longitude Flight Dynamics Modifications Project Version 1.95 » Microsoft Flight Simulator

It’s a much more stable version play wise also.

I have the lasted Nvidia drivers installed and have no issues with them.

I love the mod you mentioned and normally use it indeed  I saw it was not yet updated with SU8 so I did choose not to use it yet. I can give that a try.

Thanks for the update.

I’ve made three runs so far, the longest being two hours and no issues with any of the mods I have. Will see later if a longer run gives it any issues.

I am having the same problem. My community folder is empty. All my other aircraft have brilliant displays. Even if I turn the brightness up to maximum, the displays are dim. NVIDIA 511.79. Same in 2D and VR.

Turned up to maximum.

Thanks for posting another example, verifies that it is not just me.

I am still experiencing this issue. I am guessing everyone else is still having the same problem?

As stated earlier in the thread, the Dakfly Longitude Mod addresses this defect.

Hi all. Feel quite silly now. I have solved the issue without mods. Select aircaraft systems from the centre console and alter lighting config. Mine was set to 0. doh

Okay, you lost me… could you be more specific on steps taken to remedy, for us dummies in the crowd? What “centre console” are you referencing, for starters? Something in game options? Something in the aircraft itself?

No dummies here. Just found it myself.

Hope this helps

Aha! Thanks… this was driving me nuts. BTW, most certainly this had to have changed when I recently updated the aircraft.

I reckon that it myst have defaulted to 0 on one of the updates. Been driving me nuts for ages as well

The good news is that once adjusted, it sticks. I just closed the sim and re-entered to find the Longitude was still lighting up the Garmin screens on powerup. Yay.

Nice. Glad thats finally fixed. My eye strain was starting to put me off
