Suggestions on monitor to buy for triple monitor setup

Hi @GimbalAxis
Note that whatever monitor / TV you decide on, when planning a triple-screen-setup it is best to purchase all screen at the same time from the same supplier, and preferably try to pick 3 with sequential serial numbers if possible.

Even though the models may have the same name / designation, there can be differences between production runs and / or manufacturing locations that can cause minor (and sometimes not-so-minor) differences in how an image is displayed.

Whilst not particularly noticeable when viewing a single monitor, when viewing 3 side-by-side the differences in color variations (Hue, Saturation, Brightness, Contrast, etc.) can be particularly noticeable and difficult to standardize across all three monitors.

Just something to be aware of when deciding when to purchase.

Agree with what @SmotheryVase665 says about getting three identical monitors - I’d also extend that out to the cables you use. I’ve noticed that using different cables can give a slightly different colour picture too.

Well I dove in to the deep end, clearance sale on today at a small local retailer and got the Samsung S90D 48 inches for less than I was going to pay for a few other choices. I had been shopping for 55 inch TVs, but realized I had not really measured carefully, and 48 will just fit better in the space I have.

I had been leaning towards MiniLED, simply because I’m afraid of burn in on OLED. I watch sports which often has static logos and scores, news (logos and tickers), and long haul flights. But these look like really good tvs, so I hope I can make it work by being careful and changing what’s on screen often enough.

I’m going to make a corner table top and mount the yoke under, so I can sit a little closer and set the TVs at about 45 degrees (with some room to slide them closer if need be. I got an old car seat with arm rests, so the home cockpit is finally starting to come together

I built the same type of desk several years ago out of a piece of birch plywood and shelving brackets. Worked great. I put my PC behind the center screen.

I’m having a hard time believing that different cables will result in different color for a digital signal.

You can believe what you like mate, but that was my clear experience.

Wondering how you find the TCLs after a few months of use?

Still great. I’m very happy with the setup of my 3 TCLs.

I actually got Samsung S90D on sale. I was originally looking at MiniLED to avoid burn risk on OLED. But after measuring my space, I realized 55 inches were too big, so I started looking at 50 or 48 inch. A local shop had a clearance sale so I grabbed the S90D.

I hate all the “smart” features and “AI”. But with a little experimenting, I’ve got them working as TVs. I just hooked one up to a PC today - after receiving the GPU for a water cooled build. I have yet to install MSFS to see how it really is. This week…

Question regarding 3 TV setup. What cables are being used to connect them to the GPU? DP to HDMI? Also are all getting the same refresh rates?

I’m using three DP to HDMI cables. Get high quality cables…makes a difference.
