So this morning Im trying to do my usual morning run, and I make my turn to head east and where I used to see the hint of boats in boat club below I see this:
Yours is better than mine.
It was so snowy I couldn’t even find it.
I went to clear skies and tried again.
I finally found them, but all the small craft were much more submerged than your pics.
Go figure!
There is definitely an issue with water levels/photogrammetry, I really hope this gets sorted. As shown in the OPS post it can really make a dramatic visual when working correctly.
Thats how the photogrammetry works.
Some dock/pier boat scenery is painted on the water to look convincing from 5000+ feet up.
You all just noticing this?
I see this all the time. I flew the panama canal twice expecting to see ships going through the locks. I saw what look like container ships but they are submerged under water. I also fly a lot around Sydney, AUS and see a lot of what looks like boats submerged and cars that are driving below bridges. That was one thing I was hoping to see on the development roadmap and it wasn’t there as I know many others have reported this.
This has been since day one. took a floatplane up and landed on one of the northwest US lakes. Finally saw docks on the lakes flying unlike FSX. But got closer and the boats and docks seemed about 3 feet below the surface (maybe more). My thought that either the water sloped up on the shore near shore (which some saw) or that we had lake, ocean and river water levels too high. I can pull up onto the docks and get stuck sometimes. They are that close to the surface. Still not fixed
Dont know the boats were there the 1st time I flew by above the water line, after a reboot and an hour time away from the area (which I have been flying since day one) they just sunk back down under the water.
Underwater = normal ways its been since day 1
Above the water = only seen a couple of times in a couple of different places…
So the question still stands, are they working on PG during the day (which would explain the terrible fps/lag) or
Is my network connection gotten better and now what Im seeing is what everyone should be seeing.
You can see where the ripples are close to the shore, they were animated this morning, it actually looked like the water was rolling into the shore ( no breakers though), I was here yesterday and it wasnt like this …
If you fly around the Norfolk, Va. area, you will see many instances of water covering sections of roadways and many of the U.S. Navy’s ships are in a severe state of disrepair! While it doesn’t keep you from flying, it really does take away from the reality factor.
