Super high mouse sensitivity

Hello!
Just a quick question. Does anyone know how to decrease mouse sensitivity on MSFS 2024? I am having so much trouble navigating around and outside the cockpit because of how high my mouse sensitivity is. It’s not the DPI, because I keep my mouse DPI the same for any game. My mouse has accurate sensitivity in MSFS 2020, but in 2024 it’s very bugged. Does anyone know how to decrease this?

This has been reported and is fixed in the SU1 beta already.

Is it? I am on the latest beta and when using mouse the cockpit camera is still unpredictable. One time a small mouse movement rotates camera by 45 degrees, next time the same amount of move and the view rotates by 180 degrees. I need to move my mouse very slowly, otherwise the camera is all over the place.

Interesting! I thought I was the only one with this problem; good to know I’m not.

No, it’s not. It’s a bit better but not fixed yet.

Yes this is a problem everyone has and after months they can’t even fix this little thing

Mouse acceleration is a big issue. Move the mouse slowly enough, and the view doesn’t change. Move it faster and mouse acceleration kicks in moving your view much more than you moved the mouse. It’s a bit of a mess frankly, but fortunately not something you have to deal with much when you get a head tracker.

I couldn’t agree more. I wonder how this wasn’t spotted before they released the game to the public.

What about using Windows Mouse Settings speed .. type main.cpl @ Windows Start and Enter

What do you mean? I don’t understand.

I can’t believe there are only 9 votes for this topic. I mean, the bug is so annoying. Are people just not noticing it, or is it only affecting some users?

I’m pretty sure people just aren’t finding the report in the forum. It took me a while to find that post. That’s why I came back here to repost it. I think we should do the same in every similar post to attract more attention to the report.

Too many xbox/controller players which are not affected by this. I have camera view mapped to a mini joystick on my HOTAS and it works fine but every time I grab a mouse to change the view I always encounter this issue.

BTW where do you see votes? This is just a user-to-user discussion thread, not a bug report.

It’s also on PC as well though… I am on PC not Xbox, if you move the mouse too quick then you get the acceleration. So it should be so many people who experience this issue.

Move the mouse too slow, and it doesn’t move at all.

Honestly, it’s like someone did a search for “Worst way to implement mouse controls”, and implemented that.

1:1 mouse movement, on X and Y, with no mouse acceleration at all should not even be a discussion at this point.

A classic example of Asobo failing to separate the mouse input controls from the joystick I.e. controller thumbstick controls. The latter can benefit from them, the former absolutely not.

And this ties in with the other mouse related issue, where holding right mouse locks the primary flight controls.

This seems like remedial stuff to me.

Yep these is this as well.

It is just yet another thing that worked in 2020 that was broken in 2024.

Actually 2020 had the negative mouse acceleration, but not the positive. I remember posting about this back around SU5 when they implemented that new interaction method, and it all went pear shaped.

I wonder how many months/years they will need to remove this mouse acceleration in fs24 on PC? Any bets? We are closing in on 5 months now.

Considering it’s been there in some form with 2020 for at least 3 years I’d say never at this point.

They either don’t understand the issue, despite it being extremely easy to demonstrate, or they never saw it as a priority to fix. Another possibility is that it is so tied into the console controller code they can’t unpick it, and that to me just sounds Mickey Mouse.

I wrote about this once before, where I was helping test a game via Steam. It was a third person action game written in Unity I think. It had a similar issue, and when I described it to them, a new version came out a day or two later with a mouse acceleration option in the UI where you could disable it. It’s astonishing that Asobo don’t do the same.
