Support for Tobii Eyetrack

OK, been through the new update but no sign in the options of Tobii so looks like it needs to be installed before it will appear in options. I don’t have one currently. Hoping someone with a device can confirm or share a screenshot of what options are available in sim for Tobii.

I’m still downloading

Wish I could magic your download to complete.

Tobii shows up for me in controller options, but I can’t get it to work in game. Do we have to bind a key or something to it?

Working for me straight out of the box  now I need to find out how to set the curves and sensitivity

EDIT: having started my first flight with TOBII, Wooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, just one word coming from a trackir fan boy this is superb

Worked straight out of the box for me too. What eye tracker do you have?
Head over to our Discord and we could try to figure it out in a smoother way.

Thanks for the kind words. Happy flying

Unfortunately settings didn’t make it into the settings of this build. I suspect most people would want to tweak it so it’s something we’re discussing with Microsoft/Asobo

We’ve made a help article talking about what’s in the game and not.

Is it possible for Tobii to have a profile for MSFS in their game hub? that would bypass all the tweaking in the sim.

Has there been any discussion with MS about implementing full 6DoF movement ?

I have the 5. I will move to the discord to troubleshoot if that’s ok?

So yes it works right out of the box but for my taste it’s way too sensitive  Sadly we have to wait for the settings to come and 6DoF would be also great to have

I think it would make the most sense to have the settings in the game with other controllers. We’re currently talking to MSFS/Asobo about it.

We’re currently talking to MSFS/Asobo about it. From reading the first few reactions from people testing it. It sounds like a popular request. We can’t promise anything but if that’s what the players want, that’s what we’ll try to get. Please share feedback and requests in these forums. Here or in a separate feedback thread. It’s great for both us and MSFS/Asobo to hear what you think!

I would also like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has participated in this community effort to get an integration. We very much appreciate you. YOU made this happen! :blue_heart:

In game - you can disble Tobii in the top camera menu using the TrackIR toggle switch. Agreed, getting a MSFS profile on Tobii game hub is the quick fix here.

Very cool! Thanks for your efforts :+1: I mean 6DoF would be great for landings to be in a better viewing positon

Probably yes, Asobo won’t bring options for Tobii until the next SU which is planned for February 2022.

As long as settings are coming then I’ll be purchasing again but I’m genuinely surprised there’s no curves or sensitivity settings at the moment as well as a method to pause in sim.

Hi all,

We’re going to close this Wishlist topic and put it in the Resolved Bugs category in the next day or two. So if you feel like continuing the conversation, we’ve created a new tag, tobii , where you’ll currently find a handful of threads you can join in the Peripherals category.

Very nice to have @ehrw5059 , Community Manager for Tobii Gaming, here. Please remember that third parties can answer some quick product questions here, but we ask that everyone visit Tobii Gaming’s official channels for product support. Here’s a link to their Discord server, but they also have several other channels there listed at the bottom of their pages. (While you’re on their website, you’ll see that they have a limited-time promotion on the Tobii Eye Tracker 5, finishing in just a little under two days. :+1:)

While this thread’s still here, I’ll ask the question I’ve also asked on Tobii Discord:

Having Tobii support is MSFS at last is awesome, as I bought my ET5 some time ago in anticipation. However, without settings, senstitivities etc in game or hub just yet, it’s quite difficult to get it feeling natural and not super jittery. So option 1 is I unplug ET5, but I don’t want to do that as I like the Windows Hello face-id login feature. Is there a way to configure it so it remains plugged in with Windows Hello functionality, but doesn’t provide Face/Eye Tracking in MSFS for the time being, until an editable profile and/or settings becomes available? I would then plug my TrackIR back in for now…
