they have announced that MD-11 will be in âpreâ sale today.
Since the lack of recent in-depth screenshots or previews, I am not sure what they are selling. Also âbeta access is grantedâ for those who bought it in the pre sale

Eh totally missed this one, following this closely ad i would love a good MD-11 or DC-10
I admit based on pricing, they are higher than PMDG or Fenix, and they were going to have to be spectacular in order to for me to purchase. I was going to wait for reviews.
But then this Pre-sale, where basically you are only saving $5, but you get the Extended Range variant that will never ever ever be sold anytime ever again, only with presale. And then I started feeling like "Well, if it IS spectacular, and months from now I like the plane, Iâm going to regret not getting the extended range for SA flights into/out of Johannesburg or Cape Town (I lived in Joburg for a while, so that is my 2nd home, and many of my flights originate from there). So I gave into that marketing. They were already at over 650 so I imagine they will sell their 1000 today.
Worries me that theyâre essentially crowd-funding the addon at this ânear completeâ stage when the page they link still lists almost every critical feature as âUpcoming Featuresâ and most of the screenshots still lack texture. Thanks, but no thanks. Putting the ER version as a âbacker onlyâ benefit is also lame. This is not the direction I want to see addons go. Iâd love to see if their blog reveals more detail of what is already done but, their blog link is broken, soâŚ
Not saying this is going to be a bad or incomplete product, but itâs predatory FOMO marketing to pull in $80,000 of revenue with nothing to show for it, and I donât think itâs healthy for the community

Kinda sounds to me theyâre out of funds. Iâd be especially critical about these kinds of stuff because in the end you not only have no money but also no plane.

Pre-ordering software has never made any sense. Call it what it is: crowd funding.
I see no reason to pay for a piece of software almost a year in advance.

I am not buying anything from this company now, these are shady marketing tactics. Buying into this cr*p of artifically created scarcity and betas is dangerous for the whole flight sim community.

Still looking forward to the aircraft, but I will wait for release and reviews first.

Developers will keep using this kind of method when people trow money at them.
In the Flight Sim community there are a huge ammount of people who trow their money on anything.
I mean, there are almost none pics for something that been in developement for over a year⌠Suddenly they offer a HUGE deal for 5 bucks off and become a beta tester ( seems like a lot of people like to work for free ) and still pay full price for something that is expected in around 9 months from nowâŚ
if this was a 50% off deal, for early adopters, that whant to help on developement etc⌠would make more senseâŚ
What bothers me is that its becoming common to developers launch unfinished products for full price and the kinds of TDi who wants full price for a product that is far far away from launch

The fact they had to write a statement on Discord just to say theyâre not desperate for money is a clear sign they are.
I canât see any advantage of this pre-sale. Paying $80 for a product that the only thing youâve seen of it were some screenshots, which show virtually nothing of it. And pay this at a store that has a clear NO REFUND policy.
There is basically no guarantee of when it will be released or even if it will be released at all. The September 2023 forecast is too far and vague. Very easy for some eventuality to happen during this period and need to postpone. Then, they will complain about difficulties after difficulties, remain silent about the development and in the end, they could abandon the project and say they cannot refund the money because they have already spent it. Iâm not saying this will happen with the MD-11, but it could happen.
All that risk to save 5 bucks, and test a possibly broken beta version just two months before release. For an addon that costs this much, I expect nothing less than a near perfect simulation of the MD-11âs characteristics and flight model, high quality textures and realistic sounds. I will certainly wait for reviews before buying.

Saay what??? The plane isnât even coming out until September or later? I knew nothing about this plane until this morning. I saw the notice, and I saw that you had to pre-purchase to get the Extended Range model. But I didnât see the estimate that it wasnât going to be released until September or after. Instead I saw this âIn January, you will receive an official certificate with your information and your serial number on it.â That led me to believe the plane was launching in January. I figure sure, why not pre-purchase if its going to be released in just a couple weeksâŚ
And yes, since I do a lot of flying out of South Africa, the extended range model was the only reason I went with this pre-purchase. I was misled by that January you will receive a certificate thing, I was thinking the whole plane was getting released in JanuaryâŚ
They also doxed all their customers so thatâs fun.

Yes, they website got hammered and the chache started spitting out customer data.
