The 2021 promise to the Flight Simmer

Sure thing I would. I was simming on the gamepass version for 3 months before buying it so I exactly knew what I’m buying and what kind of bugs I’m gonna expect. This is still a wonderful piece of software.

Maybe the amount of bad vibes then :joy:

Not sure what is meant by multi-monitor support? I have 3-27 inch monitors with the scenery spread over all three. Is this not multi-monitor?

In short, no it is not.

“spread” is different to multi-monitor support in that the historical sims (including older MSFS, XP, P3D) all supported the configuration of independent views in separate monitors.

Items like lateral/vertical rotational offset and even zoom on view, facilitate superior visuals instead of simply “spreading” a frame over 3 monitors.

OK many thanks for the clarification!!!

I can see where true multi-monitor support would be essential for anyone wanting to use MSFS in a realistic home cockpit setup.

For me (personally) it is not important. I have long run two monitors with P3D and XP - a 4K for the sim and a 1080p for ancillary programs like LittleNavMap, but have never used the sim’s multi-monitor function on either platform. But, I think it is an important feature for future expansion of MSFS for those who have need of it.

Have you not seen or tried the A32nx version done by flybywire. I have a friend who’s a Easyjet captain and he was impressed by it. If you’ve not tried it go give it a try

I too am glad I bought it, and consider myself a “hardcore simmer.” I’ve been doing it since 1987, and have never seen anything like this. I’m also a real life VFR pilot, and use my previous simulator, P3d primarily for VFR flight. Are there things I want to see fixed? Sure. I’m willing to continue enjoying this simulator, and even helping to “Beta test,” while waiting for it to improve.

Oh sure I have, it is the only thing I play atm hahaha

Likewise lol

I couldn’t agree more but I have obviously a biased opinion about this.

And since the topic is the “promise to the Flight Simmer”, you might want to read what I’ve also just posted about TCAS:

As for the Garmin simulation, I’m afraid it will require some love because as of now, the main issue preventing our customers from flying with a Reality XP GTN or GNS in FS2020 has nothing to do with with the Trainer. You might want to read what is the actual reality and how this is also affecting the CJ4

I would definitely skipped the Deluxe version if I knew what I know today.

I’m exclusively a VFR, hand-flying, low-and-slow pilot.

I like the C172, C152, Bonanza, Savage Cub, and the Diamond DA40 steam gauges as well as the C208. These was an excellent sim for me prior to the most recent update. I know how to code so I was able to do the work-around on the flaps issue when UK was released. But the FPS issues with the current release are killing some of the VFR experience if you enjoy low and slow.

That said, I tried switching back to X-P11 and I’m too spoiled now. So I’m gonna be patient and hopefully they fix the FPS issues. I would give anything to roll the sim back to pre-UK release. I don’t even care about UK scenery - I fly to one- and two-strip airfrields in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska from my home airport of KMKC.

I agree. The value for the consumer this time as a “Deluxe Version” is not there. There is no functional difference between the two. No additional “PPL Training” or some bone to please a dog thing… just extra planes that are 80% ready.

I stick to VFR around small airports, it is gorgeous in MSFS 2020 and “workable” FPS

when will there be the beta version for the performance ubdate does anyone know

No date confirmed yet, but probably we will know on June 30, at the next developer Q&A.
Maybe even earlier, with one of the Developer updates.

I have more than 1000 hours in the sim, i finished a lot of $60 games in under 20 hours of playtime. This is the best and cheapest form of entertainment for me already. (if i exclude the PC and all the peripherals)
The software is very very cheap if you’re going to play it every week for 10 years. Sometimes i wonder how they can make profit from this the coming years.

If they made a super deluxe version of $350 i probably would have bought it.

I’ve got 200+ hours on Dyson Sphere Program and about 20 hours for about a third of the cost in MSFS. Hmm…I wonder where my dollars have been better spent.

Depends what you like. But a whole hobby for a one time payment of 70 bucks is very cheap.

Yes, I would’ve. And what does multi monitor and replay have to do with IFR?
