Can someone tell me why the splash screen sticks around for 2+ minutes before the Asobo logo pops up?
It was hardly 20s a few updates back and now we’re back with this nonsense… Anyone?
SX users only.

Do you really need the rolling cache? Ok, I have a good internet (600Mbps both ways), and found the rolling cache create stutters on my machine, probably when populating it, so I set it to OFF and things are far better now. If you need it my bad, but obviously you need to clean it after each update and it’s painful…
Dear Asobo,
Also wanne say a big “thank you” to all of you!!
What an awesome product you all have been delivering and I am really enjoying it!
There is always room for improvement and you will for sure work on it for the love and passion for aviation.
I also think it’s by far the best scenery and flight experience I have ever had on a PC.
Thanks to all the Asobo team - incredible that we got all of this for free. Now going to test fly everything.
Totally…
The incredible machine that delivers continuous free updates with massive added goodies, values and improvements + refinements etc is impressive.
It is perhaps the most impressive piece of software in terms of advanced tech vs customer experience and value for money, that I used in the past few years.
We can have a lot of constructive feedback about refining this and adjusting that and as a guy who manages a UX team at a real aircraft manufacturer, I am always seeking refinement in our stuff here and have a list for MSFS as well, however, a complex platform like MSFS and all the ecosystem of multiple things + the huge work done on updates etc makes one simply impressed. It is certainly a more complex software than what we develop for real aircraft here, where I work
Not mentioning the versatile and accessible aspect of bringing the flight experience to different type of users.
Also, the huge immersive and fun factor in this software and the fact that it can be adapted to different levels of gamification vs technical was always a signature in FS titles…
I started with FS3 in 1991 when I was in the last year of high school and now I am 47 and still enjoying this software and its great value.
This is by far the best entertainment, immersive, fun, educative and yes, technical software on the market today in my opinion.
Congratulations for the 40th anniversary!
I’d like to add my thanks / congratulations to all involved. While I’m one of the xbox simmers that has raised the issue of graphics taking a step back, the sheer amount of quality content added is incredibly generous.
This update really makes MSFS feel more complete, while being a nostalgic look back at what came before.
For your 40th Anniversary of the whole flight simulation franchise! ALso a HUGE Thank you to all 3rd Party developers that where and are in collaboration with Asobo to have brought us all of the free aircraft for this anniversary edition, and, what a present you have given us all! Very Much obliged to all involved here.
Congrats to MS, but it’s a firm No for Asobo for now. Lipstick on a pig as far as I am concerned. Maybe this will change, sure hope so.
I want to say THANKS too
A day late, but I just want to say…Thank You.
Yesterday wasn’t just special just because we’re celebrating 40 Years of Greatness, but it was also Veteran’s Day in the United States.
My grandfather served in World War II…and also introduced me to Flight Simulator for the first time with FS '98.
I was but a pip-squeak back then but that day changed my life. Since then, I’ve had an obsession with Microsoft Flight Simulator and got my hands on whatever Simulators I could.
My grandfather passed away on Mother’s Day in 2012 at the age of 94.
Anytime I hop on the Sim, I can’t help but think what his reaction would be to what we have now.
I flew over his house in California yesterday. The 40 foot flag pole still sits in his front yard.
Again, thank you to Microsoft, Jorg and the rest of the team at Asobo.
This flight’s for you, Harold.
In my country, lipstick on a pig means that a boar has been screwing around lately.
Back to topic: It amazes me that after my purchase of €129 ( premium deluxe) MS/Asobo keeps developing and updating the sim free of charge.
That puzzles me big time.
I bow respectfully for them.
Could not agree more! Great work Asobo team, developers and all involved in this great Sim! Happy 40th anniversary guys!
But still much much more work needs to be done specially on performance side making sim the only the unique and the one that braking barriers in simulation world! We already have beauty and quality now time for performance and efficiency time to make it work beautifully also! let’s go Asobo!
I also want to thank Asobo for this so nice SU 11 40th anniversary. Thanks for all these beautiful planes especially for the Beaver. I love it so much, the sound is just perfect. Thanks a lot and long life to the sim.
André Vaillancourt
Right, I think I’ll just leave it off. Clearing it and having it write more space every time can’t be good for the SX 's SSD. Also, if you want to set a smaller cache size, it won’t free up the additional space!
Thanks Microsoft and Asobo. You did a great job in releasing helicopters. The Cabri G2 is a real gemstone. Well done !!
Looking forward to the next 40 years.
My huge thaks to Asobo/Microsoft. This updates brought me great feelings flying choppers and vintage aircraft. I know, had some issues about helis uncontrollable but thankfully our beloved forum members solved this issue switching flight model from modern to heritage and then switch back again.
No CTD at all, no lags, no hiccups. The only complain, but i´m sure the team will solve (maybe under de hood) is the LOD decrease for us Xbox Series users.
You guys deserves the best!!!
Thank you and sorry the moments of angry about the initial difficult to fly the choppers!!
God bless
Drat…I just noticed this .. now I can’t unsee it
Indeed, thankyou for the update, a 28GB update!..This game has so many updates of 15GB or more, nearly every 2 weeks, from such slow servers, I am seriously thinking of uninstalling…as the time spent updating is just not reasonable.
