This was a godsend! Thank you so much! One quick question if you will: I did choose OneWay, but never saw the route waypoints come into the FMC. I also tried the Route Request on the Route page, and figured it must be the ‘Load PF from PFPX’ option, but didn’t see waypoints appear. Did I maybe not wait long enough? I was able to enter them manually and complete the route setup.
Not sure what I’m doing wrong but we went flying past ToD and the plane does nto want to descend w/ pressing the ALT button. Went to FLC and that didn’t even work! What should I look at here?
Thank you for this information.
I was not informed about this addons.
Now, despite a very good PC, I still have CDT.
Hopefully everything will work out quickly.
thanks again
The “OneWay” sync strategy is still more or less a feature for testing and has some limitations at this time.
I tested the strategy maybe 500times and i have never had any problem with importing the plan from WorldMap.
“How to use OneWay sync”:
Create flight plan on WorldMap
Start flight
You should see loaded waypoint on LEGS page (you do not need to use REQUEST ROUTE function because the import is done automatically)
do “DIRECT TO” to your active waypoint (push lsk1 on first page of LEGS page twice)
go to ROUTE page, push activate prompt and then EXEC
go back to LEGS page and again use DIRECT TO to your active waypoint and then EXEC
aircraft should be ready to go and route should be fully loaded
I will try to make the process automatically in future.
B78XH supports more sync strategies with advantages and disadvantages:
None
Ideal for using with SimBrief integration. This strategy does not support ingame IFR ATC and ingame VFR map
OneWay
Ideal for using with WorldMap. This strategy supports ingame IFR ATC (as in real life ATC should command pilot to make DIRECT TO and so on… So when pilot does DIRECT TO the ATC knows nothing about the direct to and the ATC will still command the pilot to fly the original waypoints) and does not support VFR map
Hybrid (commented out at this time because it needs tests)
Same as OneWay but ATC knows that a pilot did DIRECT TO and will command the pilot to modified waypopints
Complex (commented out at this time because it needs tests)
Same as Hybrid but the complex strategy supports ingame VFR map
Normal (commented out at this time because it needs tests)
Similar to complex but the strategy uses different internal handling of flight plan. This strategy is teoretically same as default MSFS FP but can have problems with HOLDs, complex STARs/SIDs
Just started using the 787 Heavy Mod and I have a question:
APU doesn’t start but also has no effect at all !?
ie. If I try to start APU I see no change on Stat page to RPM and no exhaust, but correspondingly it has no impact to the aircraft I can still start the engines just fine.
Also under ELEC page it shows APU gens GREEN and feeding the buses regardless of the state of APU (which is to say - OFF).
Is this just the way it’s modeled at the moment or do I have an installation problem with the Heavy mod ? I’ve just done the standard drop the B78XH folder into Community folder - I do get the Heavy options on the FMS etc. so rest seems to be working.
EDIT: Ok weird now it seems to be working (only thing I changed was install RR sounds) - however still note that on ELEC page it shows green for APU no matter what.
EDIT2: Ok I think it has to do with the Left Aft Fuel Pump - when you first turn the APU to START it automatically turns this pump on as well (obviously feeds the APU) but if you proceed to turn on other left fuel pumps it turns this pump off which kills the APU. I wonder if this is intended 787 behaviour
I have been using the B787 with the latest stable Heavy Mod for the last week. Firstly my thanks to the Heavy team for their hard work which has transformed the aircraft, and allowed the use of Simbrief flight planning to easily input the navigation route and weights of fuel and payload. Great job.
My second thoughts are how badly Microsoft are treating their customers. This aircraft, along with their other airliners was virtually unflyable as an IFR airliner when first released, and in over a year it appears that no serious effort has been made by the company to resolve the issues. This is particularly unforgivable as I, and many others, paid for the Sim upgrade specifically in order to use this aircraft. When you consider how much attention to detail has gone into making the exterior and cockpit views look so professional, it is almost beyond belief that they could release this aircraft with so many system faults, and then in over a year fail to address them. Here we have one of the most profitable software companies content to issue a defective product, and then sit back and relie on unpaid volunteers to sort out their mess. That’s one reason why I will never buy any software from the Marketplace, but buy it directly from software developers who update and improve their products. Well done Heavy Mod.
Not sure if you saw yesterday’s Q&A from MSAsobo? Big news coming. Working Title will officially be improving and working on the 787 and 747, however slated for 2022.
Many thanks to the mod team for their outstanding work. Using build 1.11.30 and working great here. Only using the MSFS planner and while this does result in the odd extra or missing waypoints here and there it is easily corrected by editing the flight plan. Finally enjoying this beautiful bird.
Heu @AgeRay27 - the dev Comi is aware and is having me test a route out. Do you mind posting the exact route you’re using in Simbrief so I can send his way too?
I’ve found another issue I am having with the mod as well. All of a sudden, I can’t add an origin airport into the FMC. So not even sure Simbrief import is the problem.
I am at DFW – but can’t enter it into origin, but I can enter it in destination.
