The graphics in FS2024 are worse than in FS2020 on the Series S

LOD is a joke; in FS2020, the LOD worsened with the ultimate update, but by 2024 it’s a total disaster. Whenever I have time, I make comparisons. I understand that the Series S has limited hardware, but I didn’t expect an inferior product. It’s frustrating to pay for that.

It’s abysmal on Series X as well. I thought SU15 was bad… boy oh boy. I sure hope this is due to serve load, but I feel this is it. My first flight in career mode, flying over neighborhoods that didn’t even render the ground was just a blur where houses should be. Only trees are popping up. Even the cockpit textures and placards disappear when going from exterior to interior cams.

I hate being right all the time.

I told myself I wouldn’t come here today and be a “complainer” but I am literally having so much trouble just setting up peripherals and dealing with my mouse not working I can’t even fly.

The LOD in certain areas does not seem to be server-related; rather, the textures of New York skyscrapers are of poorer quality and difficult to discern. I wish to view the details of the buildings from one meter away, but this LOD in my city, Santiago, makes the “Cordillera de los Andes” appear worse from the city than before; the previous version was superior. The satellite map quality has worsened in my city, and the water has disappeared.

I think you guys need to chill out a bit. For me , a series s xbox user, The game isn’t even loading, probably because there are thousands of people also trying to access the game

In my situation, the game completed loading, and for this reason, I say it’s worse than in 2024.

But the game still uses the internet to load in your terrain and stuff, man I feel u, I hope this is just temporary

I hoped the simulator would make advances. It has its flaws, but the city of New York is now improved. It may not be as good as the old New York (fs2020) before the 2024 update, but it’s much better than the current FS 2020. My city and others, like Paris, looked terrible, but I remained hopeful. The simulator has issues, such as the cockpit interior going crazy when driven with a mouse, but I expect improvements.

well its not exactly a console game is it, its a flight sim designed to run a beefy PC’s with the latest and top end hardware.

I know, but the optimization on consoles is different. After the ultimate update in 2020, it’s impressive to see the improvements in the hardware of the Series S. When I show my videos to friends, they ask, “Does it run on PC??”

Same for me. When to my traditional airport near Los Angeles (KPOC) where in 2020 it’s almost real life (this is where i do my PPL in real life), and right now on 2024 it is very poor quality. I also went to my Swiss hometown which has nice mountains, and in 2024 it is basically a round shape. I do hope like you that it is due to the server load. Rivers are better though. And i see some new things in the terrain (like helipads, hospitals).

Continued poor photogrammetry compared to FS2020. Do you think that developers have improved this?

It’s not even just big cities, Cincinnati and Orlando look terrible, the bridges are just squares and buildings look like a warped mess, not even roads generate properly, I’m happy I used game pass and didn’t buy the game.

It’s a bug. Restarting the game always helps for me. Series X:

I tried the same method; it was helpful in 2020, but it does not work in 2024.

ON the PC also the LOD is very bad like in FS2000

Rest assured, it’s very bad on PC as well. I just tried Bolzano Italy and the Netherlands. Low ground resolution everywhere.

I’ve watched the Analista de Bits version on YouTube and it appears to offer better graphics than in 2020. To play at maximum settings, a very powerful computer is needed.

I have a RTX4080S 5800X3D and the graphics still doesn’t look that great in photogrammetry areas. All my settings are on Ultra. I loaded 2020 tonight at the same spot, night and day difference.

It’s their servers. TLOD@400 no difference.

It’s a hit and miss. I’m flying in NZ and the PG looks better than the US cities.

I’ve also discovered “less popular” areas seem to load better than busy areas. My guess is that the server containing the specific data to load the area is over-saturated, and many people are trying to load the same pieces of data. I have a 4gb/s internet connection.
