I agree. Microsoft has turned it in to a kids xbox game just to make money. Its a big shame it had so much potential once they fixed the bugs. Back to XP for me.
So, just because the Pelican exists as an optional download, it’s now a kids Xbox game? You do realize that many people who played the Halo series are now in their 30s, 40s, and 50s right?
It’s not mandatory to install and use the Pelican. There are much less serious add-ons for the sim on external stores. They’re not mandatory either. How do they still repel you from flying?
Oh! Wow, that feels like the equivalent to the „Hot Coffee“ mod in GTA; San Andreas!
I mean, seriously people, these are ok but the Pelican is suddenly ruining the sim?
Don’t tell me these qualify as serious simming material.
The Pelican doesn’t have anything on the GTAV A50 mod though. It has a working lock on weapons system.
I wonder what Halo players would do if C172 suddenly started flying around the skies.
Have you checked my previous post? Add-ons that stick out have been around in Flight Simulator for a long time now. No problem with those?
I imagine they wouldn’t be complaining about it on the forums but would instead be trying to either shoot at it or fly it. Or maybe since it’s an optional download, they wouldn’t bother with it at all.
Space is part of flight simulation. I would love to see a space shuttle if only for landing. “Things to come” was a company that made a NASA 747 with Space shuttle piggybacked for FS9 along with lunar lander vehicle simulator and some great missions with a p51. Captain sim made a great shuttle. I would much rather do a simulated space mission than those bush missions. That was one of the best addons for FSX.
Reading the thread , some of the " serious armchair simmers " be like ;
I love the irony of you leaving over some sci fi inclusion whilst your Avatar looks like its taken from the same kind of game world.
I guess have fun shooting them down.
I was a kid when i started using flight simulators. I think adding those things will bring more kids to find out how fun this hobby is I just hope Asobo striving to make this sim as realistic as possible. Devs of a simulator should strive to make it as close to real as possible.
Those enjoying tha dropship let them enjoy it Nobody is forced to use it. Never found Multiplayer be realistic before this addon either.
Would be cool with some kind of scoring system that meassure how we follow real procedures and stuff and put us in different groups in Multiplayer. I have used Iracing and that gave me a scoring and had me racing those with same scoring as me. That also learned me how to follow racing rules.
Sorry. The avatar is a stock default graphic provided by the forum software. Plenty of others have the same avatar.
I just never bothered to change it.
The reason I’m leaving is nothing to do with sci-fi. It is due to the fact that Msfs2020 has gone from a flight simulator, which is what I paid for, to an Xbox game; which has changed its development trajectory away from being a serious flight simulator.
If it ever reverts to being a serious flight simulator rather than a scenery simulator with a flying game attached to it, I may return.
If you aren’t going to pitch this GTA/FIFA football crossover idea to EA…can I?
Have you heard of Blood Bowl? Nothing about the existence of the Pelican takes away from the ability to be a serious as you want to be with flight simulator.
Your analogy makes no sense. Anyways if that’s how you feel about the sim, well that’s your loss.
Those claiming to leave the sim, I think, are the same people that say they will leave the USA over certain policies, but they never leave.
Like others have said, if you don’t appreciate the DLC, don’t download it, and you will see a generic planes in it’s place, or turn off multiplayer and problem solved.
But no need to criticize those of us that are open to change and enjoy the Halo. Heck, I now want to watch a Halo series that is streaming on one of my streaming services.
Says i need to update to newer version in content manager but everything is updated. I even check MS store
