You’re right. I’m also like how is it possible to introduce certain bugs in a new release, or not having done some seemingly quick fixes. But indeed it’s all speculation from our side. (And we didn’t even mention sales vs dev ,
)
I guess communication is key now. Like a clear public Todo list, that may be embarrassing long, but is steadily getting smaller. That might give users a feeling like " ok, at least they are listening, and they are working hard on it". I thought they took a good step with the list published on the 30th sep but it hasn’t been edited since AFAIK . They should keep it up to date. If possible on a daily basis.
A documentation Audit would be “Interesting” …
As far as Autopilot is concerned:
I have not even looked at or flown any of the non-Ga planes in MSFS - I do not expect them to work anywhere near realistically, if the smaller GA planes cannot..
It would seem that the GA planes are also reported to have Autopilot issues, or Joystick sensitivity issues, etc etc etc
But when one looks a little deeper, and eliminate the Flight Controls, the AP, the trim wheel, you will discover that the plane is still Severely “Dynamically Longitudinal Unstable”.
So what is the point of blaming the AP’s inability to tame the unstable aircraft, or look to alter the AP’s PID response to match and mask an unstable aircraft..?
Some simple “impulse response” testing would clearly show this incorrect Dynamic stability, so once again, without any specific reason to think otherwise, even a GREAT GAME programmers, while very skilled at Visual Games, may not having the necessary background to be looking at the real issue, as an Aeronautical Design Engineer would.
So .. it gets reduced to an oversimplified basic issue – the Plane TWITCHES – need to FIX the AP
Then the question becomes, is it the Plane ( ie ALL the Planes), or the basic aerodynamic modeling (affecting ALL Planes)
Agree, communication is very important now.
There was an updated list in the recent (Oct 8th) dev update.
It’s also worth pointing out that you can test individual modules all you want, but some bugs will only appear at a system level, as Boeing recently found out with their Starliner. All the software modules were tested and worked fine individually, but they didn’t do an end-to-end test of the entire mission until the actual flight, which lead to a mission failure.
Ok, my bad.
BTW: I’m glad I don’t t program real life cockpit software ![]()
Asobo is hiring.. FYI
PR roles or comms?
It’s interesting to compare the wish lists from XP, and MSFS users:
X-Plane
Better weather & atmosphere modelling
Volumetric clouds
Better autogen & trees
3D water
Better rain
Better CPU utilisation
MSFS
Fix the crashes
Fix the planes!

Which begs the question: can you ever have your cake and eat it?
Yep. Very obvious and critical bugs that you could easily notice in the very first flight. Exactely what happened. But they decided to sell it as baked product with full price. Hard to swallow. Of course gamers with all the assists and flying in outside view wouldn’t care, so thats why they did.i still cant understand why ms chose this indie company that had not anythinh to dk with flight sknukation to be in charge of such a huge and i portant project. They’re not even capable of providing a decent installer. Come on?
Go into your content manager in your Profile tab. Check all your missing content. When you install to a new directory, only a minimal number of files are installed, but the fix is fairly simple.
Be warned, the content manager needs patching and some files it says you can install won’t install (including that 80+ GB update that has been there since forever).
I swallowed the bait but it left a touch of the amertume…
Or alternatively:
X-Plane
I want MSFS!
MSFS
I want X-Plane!
Doesn’t feel too far from the truth?
Pretty much spot on. The ultimate sim would be a melding of the two.
The latest known issues contains the fix for your issue:
I think that would have been the smartest idea indeed. They should not have released it before end of the year.
No, releasing it when they did was for the best … releasing it at Christmas would have spoilt too many Simmer’s Christmas !!!
“At home” industries are booming right now and there may have been pressure to release early. I don’t believe anyone expected this title until later.
Personally I’m having a blast with the title and it is great timing for me.
It is frustrating that I can’t just jump in and do anything I want to to do, but there is still a lot of fun to be had right now.
The creativeness and amazing mods coming from the amateur Modding community is amazing,
Almost too much .. the problem is fast becoming how to keep track of it all, and not miss anything !!!
