The sim does not recognize Xbox mouse

How can I get the sim to recognize the mouse controller using Xbox series x?

The Xbox, MSFS and the mouse are an ongoing conundrum.

I know there are a number of posts in this thread, but there are some workarounds posted here, that may or may not help you.

Ok, thanks

I always start the sim with just the controller. Once the sim loads to the main screen I plug in all my peripherals like the mouse and yoke. I always had mouse and yoke issues until I started doing it that way. Hope that helps.

I’ll second that. And I don’t even use the Xbox controller. All my hardware is connected via a USB hub with switchable ports which makes unplugging and replugging a lot easier.

When my mouse stops working, I unplug everything and then replug starting with the mouse first, making sure it works before plugging in the next item. This always fixes it.

On XBOX X, MSFS 2024, mouse was not working anywhere. I restarted XBOX with only the mouse plugged in. The mouse came back, but as I changed screens, first, the clicker stopped working, then the mouse quit working entirely.

This worked for me

I have solved my issue. i changed my mouse preset config under general controls. When the config is on mouse 2024 transversal the left click works

Another work around for 2020 and 2024 when mouse stops working (not head cam issue). Press xbox button on controller, select YT, open YT app. Close YT app, quick continue MSFS and your mouse will be working again

This was probably address already but I need to know if you can use mouse and keyboard on Xbox s for flight sim. I am having a hard time finding and answer. Thank you so much.

Yes. I use a mouse and keyboard with both 2020 and 2024 on Series S & X.

I’ve got a Razer Turret keyboard & mouse connected to my Series S right now.
