The Skypark

Can you elaborate on that? I stoppen Neofly when it started focussing very much on AI pilots. And the GUI is not my style either. But still interested to know what attracts you to it!

I have been using Skypark on and off, not really totally convinced I really like it, and have fallen back to FSEconomy recently

I’ve always heard of FSEconomy but I know nothing of it.

I loved American Truck Simulator and the business model it had. It was just a little extra, management minigame, just like NeoFly.

I love that NeoFly and Skypark bring you to places you’d never fly. Or think to fly. It gives purpose. I like that NeoFly gives that management minigame. I’ve been building up my company and flying to new places.

I think of American Truck Simulator as really an ideal model for how to take a vehicle and create a purpose for using it.
The ability to buy a facility (garage) in each State, buy and configure the equipment (trailers, and trucks - trucks that can be outfitted with different motors, transmissions, gear, and lighting) all of which can have fleet style paint schemes applied - gives one a sense of ownership. Then add the contracts and jobs boards with deadlines and pay/penalties based on performance is good motivation to grow and expand the fleet, build an empire.
All of this could translate very well to MSFS - whether you wanted to establish a large freight hauling fleet, or passenger airline, or a sightseeing or courier service with smaller aircraft.
SAR or fire suppression, life flight services, could also work as a basis for folks who wanted to fly those missions when the helicopters are fully implemented.
Seems like there is still a lot of work for Asobo to do on their essential platform to get it to where these other modules could be effectively plugged into it. But it would be great to use flight sim - THIS flight sim that way.
I would encourage anyone to take a look at American Truck Simulator (especially anyone involved with the development of MSFS) just to see how it engages its player base.
You dont have to buy special peripherals - I just use a keyboard with my TiR5 but a mouse works too

Would take it a step further FusionHorse151 and infuse both ets2 and ats with msfs into the one game/sim imagine that.

As much as i like skypark it has its limitations just like Ah2 ,Onair company.
Deliver x y z or Fly over a certain area with passengers at altitude.
Where’s the goto burning oilrig(s) and rescue survivors,Medi pick ups from boats with chopper for example or put out fires with Lockheed P3 and many many more scenarios with a proper multiplayer function just like we see on ets2 and ats convoys.

As much as i would like to see the above unfortunately this sim/game is so far behind i would assume will take many years before we such events.

I bought The Skypark earlier this year and found it to be quite enjoyable but not very immersive.
Yesterday, I downloaded the free application Neofly.
The difference is outstanding! Tons more missions, more variety, more immersive. It’s like Euro Truck Simulator for MSFS! The only negative is that it lacks some of the gloss that The Skypark offers.
In my opinion, if you can look past that you should save your money and download Neofly.

I bought The Skypark a few days ago and haven’t got it to install properly yet. Every time I try to install it, it says that it failed to install the new files. I bought it from orbx central and don’t know what to do, I would appreciate it if someone could give me some tips on what to do.

Perhaps try running Orbx Central in admin mode and also disable anti-virus? See if that helps at all.

If you pop into the Discord we can try to help - Discord

Thank you! problem solved now, turned off anti-virus, and ran Orbx Central in admin mode.

Anyone use it in VR ?
Thanks.

Yes, with HP Reverb G2. To get Skypark in VR required OVR overlay utils such Ovrdrop or Ovr Toolkit.
I am using ovr toolkit.
It is quite easy to setup.
You need to use Steam VR (not Windows OpenXR).
Also the performance drops 3-4fps.
My went from 30fps to 26-27fps.
. You can use keyboards instead of HP controllers to move adjust windows skypark inside fs2020 VR.
Not only you can use skypark. Also any windows apps such LittleNav App/Chrome-Skyvector in to VR cockpit.

Thank for your Answer. I appreciate.

Hi everyone, I have been using Skypark for a few weeks. It seems that I cannot change the simulation rate Ctrl-r-+ when I am using Skypark. It is fine for short flights but if I want to take longer flight missions if may be difficult. Anybody has the same issue?

It’s not related, I’m using Skypark with time acceleration. May ai suggest you bind some separate keys for time acceleration increase and decrease, see if that’s working.

Thanks I will try this. Good it is not related

Just bought The Skypark and loving it!

Really missed missions from previous flight sim.
Could take MS a year or more to put missions in and still not be as good as this.

A few comments relating to some posts above:
Not using VR here.
Not seeing noticeable drop in FPS with Sky-pad in use.
Sim Rate time acceleration works. I have it bound to a dial knob on throttle.

May you add a custom difficulty where the player has check boxes, and can select or not the option he wants to use.

Have you tried Discovery mode?

Yes, but it’ doesn’t suit me.

I would like to disable the relocation fee. At that time, it’s that feature which I would like to shut down, and keep all the other ones.

I have to agree with this. Although I appreciate some of the economy aspects of the game, I think it’s still best as a fly anywhere on anything at anytime kind of thing…
