Things I'd love to see on the World Map

This is just a bunch of stuff I’d like to see on this screen, I’m not a frequent flyer on these forums so apologies if they are old ideas but…

1: Show me the mountains.
Or to be more specific, I’d like to see the terrain detail as far in as I can zoom, not just at the high level. Mountains are really interesting places not just to see in this game but to fly over with all the weather/wind effects

2: Show me the roads.
Because IRL I don’t know how to fly, what little I know about local geography is where the roads are at, if I could see them on this screen it would be a big help in working out which flight I wanted to take.

3: SHOW ME THE LIGHTNING!!!
I really wanna know where the storms are at. The weather in this game is amazing and just makes it come alive. I love flying in ridiculously dangerous weather in a plane that gets blown backwards by the wind force.

Help me find that weather in real time because, I dunno, trying to land in a storm is one of the most challenging and rewarding aspects of this game IMHO, and when it’s a storm that’s currently happening it just adds to it so much.

Im hoping for a mod that overlays Google Earth map on the virtual globe in the game. I know MS will never tolerate such a thing but if not Google Map then Open Street Map at least or even Bings own map. I dont meant sat maps, I mean the road ones. One of these with all the airports marked would be perfect!

SHOW ME THE LIGHTNING!!!

Tip: you don’t have to fly real world weather… you could switch on heavy lightning in weather settings and 85 knots wind if you like select the “storm” item in the list, it is below “snow”. Make sure you are not on low altitude when you do that, you’ll crash immediately when you’re on Active Pause.

I really agree with this topic.. They could do a lot more with the current globe map ! check out this list and put your votes everywhere !

I want the ability to do REAL flight planning, get a full weather report along the route I’ve plotted, and see it on the World Map, wind directions, the ability to change the altitude winds directions are being displayed, rain, cloud cover visibility, icing, etc, all the features you’d get from a 800 WXBrief report, but from the in game weather. Even better if they go out and get NOTAM’s and display them, too.
