Approach into Innsbruck, one of the most beautiful airports in the world, Career mode, Vision Jet, Xbox Series X.
MSFS 2020 never looked this bad, not even at its worst times.

Since they removed the content and I reinstalled, Iām seeing a big improvement. Still some LOD issues, but not as bad. Not sure how this will change when the content is added back in.
Autoland seems broken on all the iniBuilds airbus aircraft too, every time I lock on to the LOC and GS all seems fine until the last moment it disconnects everything and pitches upwards and full throttles making autolanding impossible.
Someone in another thread said they did 120 GB rolling cache on XSX and it made a huge difference, has anyone else tried this?
Iāve tried days ago, it makes no difference at all. The rolling cache is there to help your bandwith, it shouldnāt improve performances or graphic fidelity to a great extent. Probably a good chunk of the positive feedback itās just placebo or maybe they didnāt know to have some problem on their own internet connection. I see a lot of players claiming to have a super fast bandwith but itās not really about speed but stability. Itās better to have a rock solid and stable 100 mb connection than a 1 GB which doesnāt perform well. Anyway, to set back your rolling cache to 16 you need first to delete the reserved space on your SSD.
Did an autoland on the A330-300 with no issues on Series X.
I just made my rolling cache 500GB lol I only purchased an Xbox Series X for MSFS so I donāt really need the space for any other games. It feels as if itās helped somewhat.
Really? How did you get it to work? Every time I try with any of the Airbus planes all is fine until everything disconnects about 200ft from the runway.
Donāt know why itās working for me. After GS is established I select the second autopilot, and confirm the PFD says CAT3 DUAL. No issues after that. It even does an auto rollout on the runway.
500 gb of rolling cache ? We have a winner !
I have Series S pictures of this approach in MSFS 2020. And yeah, the series S version looks much better than MSFS 2024 on Xbox Series X. This visual downgrade is an embarrassment to Xbox Game Studios.
I strongly suspect this visual downgrade is pretty much tied with how Dynamic Settings works. Iāve read lot of PC users feedback and search for different resources and it seems like when DS is turned On the first thing it does to mantain the target framerate ( itās set to 30 fps on console ) is to cut down draw distance while reducing the overall quality of the scenery. Iāve heard users with low PC specs suggesting to turn it off regardless.
It can tie in with MSFS 2028ā¦
Especially with the added memory demands for system RAM and VRAM, Iām surprised the consoles are booting and working at all with the new sim. It doesnāt bode well moving forward sadly.
Indeed, the most recent data show that the problem is not in Xbox (which has a hardware that can very easily handle the simulator), but in the modeling that is not even close to what was offered (as many have already said, the general aspect of the MSFS2020 is still much superior)
P.S.: Free vision is still absolutely uncontrollable with the mouse on Xbox
P.S.2: No, this is not a post-apocalyptic scenario, it is the Madison Square Garden according to MSFS2024
Yes, it arrived on December 5, but for MSFS2020 and it is necessary to pay a subscription to Navigraph to be able to update the AIRAC
For the purposes of MSFS2024, PMDG made it clear that that ātransmissionā of the 737 was not informed or consulted with PMDG and that at this time they are not responsible for the operation of the product in the MSFS2024 (In fact, they do not appear on the load screen of the simulator that shows the third party developers)
I love Dynamic Settings on PC, but you do have to use it correctly for your system. Otherwise it can do more harm than good.
You are correct, it seems to adjust Terrain and Object Level of Detail, a low Object LOD is likely why we get so much airplane pop in at airports and whatnot. A low Terrain LOD can impact photogrammetry and geometry draw distance, and on 2024 we are still testing, but it also may limit high definition texture draw distance.
On an Xbox you could get especially bad LOD results on ground and in air around big airports and cities especially like JFK and Heathrow.
And to me, it feels like especially the Series X is still underperforming. I expect better results soon.
I know people have told you this elsewhere but for the sake of this thread, ground level photogrammetry is not great⦠as it was photographed from well above any city.
For best results in NYC, fly where airplanes fly⦠above the city. Not where cabs drive. Cities arenāt photographed from street view for MSFS.
That is neither an Xbox exclusive issue nor an issue at all. It is just how photogrammetry looks up close from ground level.
You can say it louder, but not clearer
The problem isnāt the Xbox or the bandwidth, is the product
The Photogrammetry you photographed is what it is. I bought addon scenery for NYC just to clean up some of that stuff because I know the town so well. Lived there for ages. Fun to see stuff up close.
Vegas scenery was also worth picking up for me.
NYC photogrammetry looks similar on a PC with ultra settings.
Your photograph has nothing to do with bandwidth or streaming. That is the MSG data you should stream.
