This is how MFS 2024 runs on Series X

It’s still so all over the place, it’s difficult to know what is intentional and what’s not loading or streaming correctly.

Sum total of day three has been getting to an airfield, after a lot trying, trying to complete the walk around and the game crashed.

Still haven’t managed to do anything in MS2024.

It’s EASILY POSSIBLE when servers are hugely overloaded which is what’s happening now with massive numbers of people downloading, installing and trying to run the sim.

Has anyone figured this out???

Basically it’s very difficult now to do bush flights, a lot of elements on the ground pop-in at the very last second, even little trees or rocks which can really make some serious damage to your plane. What i mean, all these technical problems are hurting the core features of the game. Of course Xbox Series X/S is out since 4 years so i don’t expect unrealistic results but to accept the game in such a poor shape it’s a whole different topic. For example, i’m fine if the global illumination is greatly downgraded if you compare it with the PC one to the point that the scenery often is really flat. But to be unable to make a proper landing because all of a sudden rocks and trees magically appear in front of me, it’s a huge problem.

I think Microsoft might have the next gen Xbox waiting in the shadows? I also believe it will have the ability to run Windows direct from the console. Just look at the size of PS5 it’s nearly as big as PC tower. Watch this space.

This is one of the worst looking games on XSX. Horrible aliasing

, low internal resolution (sub 720p?) shimmering mess. Unstable shadows. Extremely low draw distance. Heavy popin.

It should never have been released in this state on Xbox Series X.

Here the screenshots 2020 vs 2024 on series X, I have to make multiple posts because of the 5 file limit

This graphics regression is unbelievable. MSFS 2024 is a extreme visual downgrade compared to MSFS 2020. The compressed screenshots are not even showing the aliasing and shimmering. I hope Digital Foundry does an anylisys on this soon.

And even worse graphics on the ground during walk around.

All from Series X.

I’m stopping here. I can’t find a single instance where 2024 is better than 2020. 2024 is always far behind!
2024 is better only with live weather as it correctly render snow

At times it’s better, it’s also related to lighting conditions. Anyway, the image quality is not that good, probably because the game is streaming pretty much everything. At the moment, at least for me as i’m mostly a bush pilot, the main problem is the extremly aggressive LOD, both on long/short distance. I can’t judge a good landing spot because at ground level you see important details like trees and rocks way too late. Take this screenshot for example:

Beautiful. But 200 meters away mountains are basically without textures.

i got the same on pc, also i got way more fps with higher settings on 2020

The good thing about 2024 is that I reinstalled 2020 and I’m happily flying right now

I never uninstalled 2020, I just knew the hype was exactly that HYPE

Every time I try to use Beluga or other heavies the sim crashes. Even when using simple GA planes the frame rate is very bad. Series X version needs fixing, and fast.
