This WILL get your X52 Setup WORKING for ALL BUTTONS

Try this: Set up an empty profile in the Logitech software. Change only one thing: switch the latch mode to the non default value (I forget what it is). Load that profile before running FS.

Does this work?

EDIT - If you’re already using a profile, just toggle the latch setting. Don’t know about mode, but works for me for the pinky switch.

Thanks- tried this but doesn’t seem to have an effect. Pinkie is recognised as a ‘normal ‘ button so can ‘bind’ with another button but this isn’t the desired behaviour.

I’ve also just noticed that the mouse button next to the mouse tracker thing does not work at all in the sim, but registers fine in the control panel settings.

Cheers

[/quote]Wait, what? It’s supposed to act as a normal button. It’s button #6. In the default X52 profile that came with the sim (for those of us lucky enough to have the right hardware version), the pinky switch is mapped to the brakes. What do you want it to do? Remember: it’s not intended to be used here as a shift (as it is in some other sims).

As to the “mouse button”, that’s button #31. You should be able to assign it any way you want.

I think I have been confused thinking pinkie acts as shift. If it’s meant to work as a normal button, then it is now working - it only seemed to register randomly before I changed the latch as you suggest and now working consistently so some improvement there and thanks.

The mouse button does indeed show as button 31 without any problem on the control panel, but it does not show up as anything in the sim - button or when trying to select as a mouse left click. Any ideas? I have tried numerous changes in the Logitech software without any joy.

Cheers

It’s not assigned to anything by default. You gotta decide what command you want it bound to - from the unfiltered, ie. full command list - then bind it. I’m away from desktop, but search the forums if you need detailed procedure.

I have a new X52 HOTAS (Logitech one) and it works and feels great, except I don’t have pedals and the Z-Axis twist rudder behaves like a button, there is zero in-between positions regardless of how I set my sensitivity just full deflection left and right which is not cool…

Does anyone else have this issue? Any ideas how to fix it so I can use it as a proper rudder?

thanks!

yes sir. Here is your answer. Set your rudder to JOYSTICK R-AXIS Z. Then adjust your sensitivity on it down to about 40%. You will happily be steering your planes.

It’s not that it’s unassigned in the sim, it’s that it does not show at all. If I press any button in the ‘search by input’ section, they appear with the assignment if it has one, but buttons 31 does not recognise at all. Any ideas?

If you mean in the sim and not in the control software, listen to CapnCarl. If you mean in the Logitech calibration software, then it’s defective.

You are approaching it from the wrong side. Blank out those search fields and set filter to show all the commands. Now choose a command that has no assignment and match button 31 to it. I’ve done it. Works here.

EDIT - I see what might be causing confusion. If setting the filter or the expand/collapse button doesn’t show anything in the main panel, reclick the X52 tab on top. That will refresh that window with the commands. Not sure if this is a bug just introduced in latest patch.

Yep in Logitech and Windows software it works fine. It’s only behaving that way in the sim. I’ll give CapnCarl’s solution a go!

thanks,

Well that was strange. So, button 31 will not register when pushed like the others, but then I did as you suggested and assigned button 31 manually instead of by input. I assigned to open Navlog - it allowed me to assign but didn’t work in game, but it has made it work like the left mouse button In the game which is what I wanted after all :+1::+1:

Many thanks for you help!

I tried to mess around again with it last night with no success. it’s bound to the correct axis “JOYSTICK R - Axis Z” but it continually jumps to either end of the line with the slightest twist. newest drivers from Logitech installed, plug unplug doesn’t seem to matter it just behaves like a button.

Hardware is fine because it behaves perfectly in Logitech and windows calibration tools. I know I’m binding it properly because currently I’ have in bound using a slide axis on my throttle to control the rudder with my thumb, it works pretty good, definitely better then violent jolts from left to right with the twist axis, but obviously not ideal.

Not sure what to do from here, get pedals I guess…

Try this:

  1. Unbind that slider.
  2. Set the rudder sensitivity back to zero, the default.
  3. Momentarily unplug the cable from the throttle to the joystick and reinsert.

Does that work?

Screen shot taken lol, I’ll give it a try when I get home and see. I am at a loss so I’ll try anything right now.

Thanks for this info !

If you open the default Saitek control panel and leave it open, then start the sim, the pinkie works great,

it’d be awesome if anyone could post a solution to get the Logitech X52 Space/Flight H.O.T.A.S. to work in other games et al Falcon BMS 4.36, or DCS World - the games I play. I do not use MSFS, so responses already here really do not apply for me. Thanx!

Button 31 not being recognized in MSFS despite calibration test reading it accurately

I have an X-52 Pro and cannot get button 31 to respond. Did you find a solution to your problem? If so what was your solution?
