Anyone else not impressed with the latest release . For me there is to much going on with the app and think it could have been simplified, also the voices sound robotic .I realise a lot of work has gone into this update (thats why it took so long to release) but for me i wish we could have the option to revert back to ver 1.55 .
Totally agree. v1.55 was better in my opinion and it added āflavourā whereas v1.6 complicates everything.
I do have a copy of 1.55 on a flash drive ,but it wonāt accept the serial code when i try and install it ,disappointing really as i liked the 1.55 version. Have emailed the dev but got no reply.
I got in contact with the developer and he said that the server authentication has changed from v1.55 to v1.6 and it has been retired. I tried to macrium reflect to roll it back but that didnāt help.

I personally like 1.6 a lot.
It brings even more āliveā feeling in the airplane, voice interactions works like a charm and immersion is great.
How can it be too complicated ? You can just disable every single bit you wouldnāt want in the settings and set it up to your liking 
Also I had to laugh when, before push back, ground crew told me a reminder that if I use an airline monitoring software of some sort, I shouldnāt forget to start it up at this time ^^
Because of course, using OnAir, I was about to forget it again 
Once GSX Pro sync will be in, I guess it will be one of my best must have addon.

This is less than ideal.
What I have really been waiting for is the BizJet option that is scheduled for 1.6.2. But for now Iām just getting familiar with all the new stuff in 1.6, although only on airliner flights that I do less often.
Dont get me wrong i agree with you it does work like a charm ,but for me there is alot of things with it that are not as simplified as the last version and i think that rolling back should have been an option that the dev included with this release rather than just retiring it .
Personally I think 1.6 has developed into a really nice add on. I too am looking forward to the GSX synchronisation. There are few other similar softwareās that are a lot simpler for those that want something less complex.
To me 1.61 is a much complete package. 1.55 just seemed half done. Looking forward to regular updates.
Iām enjoying 1.6 as well. Two things I look forward to are;
- Better GSX interaction (Theresā no reason SLC canāt trigger the stairs/jetway on startup and then trigger GSX boarding when SLC starts boarding)
- Some better voice/airline sound packs.
I have a feeling that purchasing TTS voice packs might be a better sounding option than using the encrypted MP3 voice files that I think come with SLC.
So having used it for a week or so now, some observations.

There appear to be some bugs or weird idiosyncrasies with the way it handles voices. Iāve disabled the master GROUND CREW voices because theyāre useless with (and worse than) GSX. The problem is that while the ground crew voices donāt play, the captain part of those conversations still do. So I hear one sided conversations the captain is having with ground. Weird.

I cannot for the life of me get SLC to play SoundPack voices. Iāve got a bunch of safety announcements in SoundPack Folder. These same sound packs are just .MP3ās that i used with 1.55 however they never get played. Not sure what Iām doing wrong here, but all I end up with is just the default cabin crew voices.

On the whole, I think whilst there are more triggers (which is great) and there is better interaction with MSFS in terms of doors etc, the annoucenments and voices are a step back. At this stage Iād prefer to go back and use 1.55 because at least I had real .MP3 files that played real announcements as opposed to the default droning type voices.
There is a lot of potential in the program however at the moment it needs work.
Its also strange that Steve hasnāt turned the DIscord back onā¦All heās doing is driving people to the unofficial discord where people are trying to help each other out without any input from the developer. Weird.
If anybody has any solutions or ideas about the above let me know! Just my 2c

Youāre not alone with #2. It seems like soundpacks (custom ones, like a Southwest Airlines safety notice) play for some, but for the majority, they donāt play. Sucks!

I have the same problem with the sound packages. At 1.55 it didnāt work anymore. But I think Iāve found the solution now. The files are different and would have to be rewritten or copied into the new data structure. I read something in the instructions yesterday. Can be read on the SLC website. Correct me if I am wrong. Have to test it out. Greetings Rolando
I canāt even get past this point with the new version. Clearly the battery is on and ground so is ground power! SLC is some of the most frustrating and clunky software Iāve ever used. The previous version was bad enough, this new version is worse. Uninstalled!
I do regret that in 1.6 the upper buttons in the cockpit, to call cabin crew, do not interact with SLC as it was in 1.55 !
