Throttle issue on the F18

Hello pilots,

I am sorry if this has been asked but I didnt see a similar issue:
When I am trying to fly the F18, throttle goes up to 100%, take off, shortly after, about 20 seconds, engines fog down to 20% and unresponsive to throttle input.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

If you’re using any autopilot peripheral setup, turn the autopilot dial off any speed hold mode. Something is sending the autopilot speed hold command, as soon as you take off the Weight on Wheels switch turns off and the ATC engages and is now trying to maintain your takeoff speed.

Thank you that worked. My bravo throttle knob was on the IAS setting and was creating the issue!

I’m not sure I’m right. but 80% is a normal position. to do more, you need to turn on afterburner. after that, you can increase it to 100% = it flies faster, the speed is higher, but the fuel also eats a lot

hi
cannot activate the afterburner from outside view you need to be in cockpit view and on ground otherwise it does not work.
i like the fact that it makes a sound while looping, this is gd.
what i do not like is that there is no sound when sound barrier is crossed (unlike the DC F15 eagle).
also a few maneurvrability issues that should be fixed.
it is not an excuse that the aircraft is free.

lol?
Afterburner WORK from outside view! Work in sky and on ground… I’m take off with acceleration to 80%, when push Afterburner button and accelerating further to 100% with additional sound effect and visualization. Everything is the same in the sky. You can also hear sonic boom when passing the speed of approximately 530-580 kts from outside view.

if something doesn’t work for you the way I wrote, then you have a mistake or install issue somewhere.

ah ok im sorry maybe i have an installation issue (im on xbox)
Will redownload
thx anyway

can we assign an afterburner button?

Yes. Here’s a thread I made about it: [Xbox] Easy way to toggle afterburner (F/A-18 Super Hornet) - Community / General Discussion - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

Yep, you can.

Go to Controllers and assign a command for “Toggle Afterburner”
