Thrustmaster TCA Throttle Quadrant USB device not recognised error

My new USB-C is working ace so far, no issues since Thurs!

Seems to be a common fault - maybe poor Quality USB-C’s from CN…

My replacement unit that was shipped as part of the ā€˜set’ (but i didn’t get a new sidestick as it is working fine) has been fine so far (fingers crossed)…

Keep it going - the more we can get this out there, the better!!! share on FB/IG/TT/Reddit…

Try the power management disabling mentioned earlier in this thread. It has fixed my disconnect problems.

After almost a week, my USB error returned this evening, so bizarre!

Oh no - sorry to hear that! It sounds like my problem too… Even using new cables, nothing is working to get the device recognised at all now. I’m waiting for a further response from Thrustmaster and hopefully a replacement.

Sorry to hear you’re also having issues! I managed to get the cable back alive, simply by taking it out and back into the quadrant multiple times. Now my PC has discovered the device again, I’ve switched to USB 3.0 (I know they say not to use this but others have switched and seemed to have helped!) to see if this will stop the issue from happening but we’ll see…

Just had a response from TM, apparently I will get a delivery slip to return the unit for repair in the next 24-48 hrs. Not sure when I’ll see it again! lol

USB 3.0 worked briefly but then the USB not recognised returned. I now have a UPS label from TM but as a last resort I’m trying a smaller cable (1.5m in place of 2.5m - I’ve had issues before with using long monitor cables that caused screen issues.) and back to USB 2.0 to see if this helps. Again, once it’s connected, all features work 100%.

The trouble is when it can’t recognise the unit and trying to get the PC to recognise it again. I just know that if I return it for repair, they’ll tell me ā€˜it works fine’ but I’ll have to wait 2 - 3 weeks for that diagnosis. I have 10 days from today (as that’s when the label expires). I’ll test this new setup and see if we have any issues by Monday.

do you use Volanta? if so, you can add me if you wish - mikeyblue005

I don’t I’m afraid. I just completed a short flight - no problems. Then once parked, I unplugged the cable, reconnected and USB failed appeared. I think I may just send it off for repair to be on the safe side, otherwise I’m always going to be trying different methods to solve the issue. I have made a note of the serial no, it’ll be interesting to see if the same one is returned or perhaps replaced!

Hi, after the last update on tuesday, my TCA is not recognized anymore by Windows, do have a hint for me?

I’m sorry, I can’t understand that - everything is still working fine for me.

im also in the process off sending my thrustmaster sidestick back ,completly different problem to you,my rudder on the twist was so sensitive tried everything so emailed tm,after several emails and videos theyve said its a hardware fault, funny thing is they wont me to not send it back but to sever the cable about 4 inches from the base then take a picture off it and send it back to them,i emailed them back saying i didnt wont to be without a controller for a long time and your web site was saying out off stock, just had a email back of tm saying they have a different stock for warrenty issues,so hopefully it wont take too long to come from france,so hopefully anyone else having issues its good to know that they have stock for failiures, been a pain though, btw has anyone else sent one back to tm if so how long did it take to arrive

Hey there, my quadrant return is being collected on Monday (all being well). I’ll keep you posted but TM did quote around 2 - 3 weeks turnaround time. Most likely 2 - 3 days for repair, 5 days either side for delivery. This quadrant was stuck in UPS’s London depot for a week when it first arrived, hopefully it won’t have the same issues leaving the UK.
