Thrustmaster Warthog stick causes CTD after 1.13.16.0 update

I’ve had my Thrustmaster Warthog stick and Throttle along with other periphelas like Honcecomb Alpha yoke, Saitek Multipanel, Switchpanel,Saitek Flight panel, Thrustmaster rudder and TracIR working with no problem previously, but after the lastest update my Thrustmaster stick causes CTD when loading the sim. I’ve tried to unplug all other USB periphelas and only have my Thrustmaster Warthog stick attached but that doesen’t solve the problem, still get CTD. But when I have my Thrustmaster Warthog stick unplugged and all other periphelas plugged in, the sim works just fine. Even the Thrustmaster Warthog Throttle works fine. I’ve tried different USB ports direct to the PC with no luck. I can calibrate the Thrustmaster Warthog stick in the PC so i guess the stick works. So i’m at the end of the rope and just don’t know what to do next. Any suggestions are welcome.

If you plug your warthog stick in and check the windows USB game controller panel properties for it, does it look like it’s working?

Hi,

Try reinstalling the official Thrustmaster Warthog driver, this fixed the same problem
for me.

Good luck!:+1::smiley:

Thank you. Yes, i’vre tried that, and the joystick seems to work fine.

Than you for your suggestion MNPOSTEMA46999. I,ve had forgotten to install the driver previously, and had the joystick and Throttle working just fine before the lastest update. But after the CTD yesterday i’ve installed the driver and still got CDT. I can try to uninstall the driver an reistall it again just to be shore

You are very welcome buddy :+1:

Please let me know if it works out for uou, if not i have some other ideas.

I had the same problem. I heard unplug sound then my throttle’s light went off and I had ctd. This happened twice

I’ve tried to reinstall the Thrustmaster driver with no sucess. Still CTD when I plugg in The Thrusmster Warthog stick. The throttle works fine.

I’ve updated my old computer with the MSFS 2020 latest update and the Joystick work just fine. I’m guessing it’s a conflict with a program on my new gaming computer and the Warthog Stick. A quick view at the logbook shows that it’s a exception code 0xc0000005, Fault offset 0x0000000000e8be23 and faulting process ID 0xfe0 and report ID: 23cfbe82-c452-466b-a23b-2f612af077e7. But that’s all greek to me.

Have you checked the site of your mobo’s manufacturer to see if they have a more recent set of USB drivers for your mobo?

No, i haven’t. Thanks. Will do that

No luck with any new USB drivers. I’ve Asus rog strix z490-f gaming Mobo. But I updated the audiodriver and the Intel Management Engine driver. I’ve tried every USB port on the computer and even an USB-hub, so i’m really at the end of the rope now.

the only thing i can think of now is that the file(s) that holds the details of your controllers and/or mappings has somehow become corrupt.

I’m afraid I didn’t know what they were called, but the good news is that i found this while i was searching, New computer new Windows 10, new MSFS2020 install crash to desktop with USB joysticks plugged in - Self-Service / Peripherals - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums.

I know it’s a Steam installation and yours might not be, but it would seem to suggest that renaming/removing the controller configuration file(s) might do the trick and I am sure that you can find the MS Store equivalents of the files the OP identifies in his own solution.

Good luck

Thanks HawkMoth9135 for trying to help out. I managed to find the file containing my mappings of my peripherlas. Made a copy of the files and removed them. Then I rebooted my PC, but still gets CTD as soon as i plug i my Thrustmaster stick. I read the post that you referred to and saw that the topic starter had the same problem. (also a new computer and fresh install of MSFS 2020 and problem with the USB periperhals) but in my case not a corrupt “mapping file”. It must be another conflict that I have. But I find it strange that it only affects my Thrustmaster stick and not the Thrusmaster Throttle or any of the other peripherals. And as I have mention earlier the stick works just fine in MSFS 2020 on my old gaming computer so I don’t think I’ts something wrong with the stick iteself. I’ve made Zendest ticket but I’m not holding my breath that it will pan out to a quick solution.

I suspect that it must be an issue with a configuration file somewhere in your setup and I am sure that the support peeps will help you to find it.

I wonder if there is a file that holds details of your controller hardware?

Good luck

I’m a happy camper. At least for now. Yesterdays sim 3 update fixed my problem with the CTD i got every time after the last World update when plugging in my Joystick. I’ve got CTD every time when I plugged in my Thrustmaster Warthog joystick. No other USB peripherals casued CTD, including my Thrustmaster Hotas Throttle. I installed the Sim update 3,and I must admit that it was with little faith and a trembling hand that I took that USB cable and plugged it in a USB port after I restarted the computer and sim. But then… What The French…no CTD. Oh ye of little faith…maybe I’ve learnt my lesson now and trust that Asobo eventually will fix all things that they are causing with their updates…(lol)…:joy:.
