Top Gun film delayed, DLC as well?

More time for the team to fix all the bugs since the Simupdate 5.

I am a bit worried about that…especially since MSFS described the Reno Air Race as their “first ever major expansion” in one of their posts.

Where did you get that info? It still says releasing November 19, 2021

Lol. Who would have guessed. They should just release it for home streaming.

“Top Gun: Maverick,” the first sequel for the 1986 Tom Cruise actioner, was slated for release in June 2020, but that’s been changed several times. Most recently it was set for a pre-Thanksgiving release on November 19.

It is now dated for Memorial Day weekend next May.

Yep, unfortunately the top Gun DLC is tied directly into the movie release.

Honestly I am so annoyed they aren’t. I am high risk and the UK is not handling the pandemic well at all so haven’t left home in over a year now so a trip to a stuffy cinema is not possible so it’s an extra long wait for me while seeing all the hype yet by time I see it people will of moved on :frowning:

Yea I just saw it on some news articles. Dang it Maverick, I guess he must still be mourning The loss of Goose

That movie has lost all of its momentum by now anyway. They should have released it for streaming last year. It will be a box office flop, you wait and see.

How dare they delay a Tom Cruise Movie without Holy Tom’s permission.

I agree.

It is going to be a long time before people get back to theaters like they used to.

Amazon prime is currently streaming first run movies for $20. It seems they can make a good profit from that, unless they suspect people will just steal it.

I have no need for dogfighting, but the Super Hornet needs drop tanks to give it a truly useful (ferry) range in the game!

Oh for sure, I know a few folks are going quite a bit to get out but it’s not the same or as profitable even for the cinemas.

I mean people pay more online than a lot in cinemas do for movie access. Plus honestly if sell full ownership for £30 or rent £20 near everyone will buy and you made £30. The stealing issue is a kinda moot given people will do that anyway. Not like it’s a new thing

Personally I’m glad they’re giving cinemas some exclusivity time. They need the business after these tough times and its not going to hurt anyone that can’t go to cinemas to just wait a couple months til its on a streaming service.

You can bet with absolute certainty that the Top Gun DLC will be delayed until the movie. They already said can’t reveal much more due to spoilers, and they are marketed together.

We ain’t getting any of it until May 2022 that’s almost guaranteed now.

But, hopefully we can have a nice and smooth, stable sim with no ctds by then too

Admitting that you are not interested in the film which is a copy (point by point) of the old top gun (including scenes on the beach and motorcycle rides etc, “Top Nostalgia Factor” the real name  :call_me_hand: )

It’s still worth waiting for to come out from a commercial point of view for one famous flight simulation game that predict a rich cash-in from this maneuver.

Well, I really enjoyed the first one, and was excited about the new one, but my interest has lessened. I WILL watch it, just not in a theater.

But i hope you will buy the “top gun dlc” ( this is the really important part) , maybe with a tom cruise pilot skin,i see it as a way to financially support asobo for other “exciting” future dlcs

They have already said it’s free…
