Top Gun Tuesday is Almost Here!

And “Danger Zone” will be the new MSFS opening music.

From my understanding the contract with paramount they can not disclose anything as it would be a breach of nda. BUT the trailer for the game does show a carrier Maverick in an F-18 and a stealth plane! So wait her way I’m stoked to see what’s going to be in the DLC next Wednesday with the movie pre screen.

It’s going to have new bar scenes and a hokey romance story for your simming enjoyment.

Probably adds a motorcycle, so you can ride around base and look cool.

Question about top gun dlc did we already got it with Airplane with the game of the year what are we going to get?

I’m not expecting much. I assume there will be some “gaming” aspect but I am not expecting any tangible F18 improvements. I also think a functional carrier is wishful thinking.

Was a rumour once!

Well looks like for sure the F-18 from the movie with Maverick in it stead of standard avatar, everything else is speculation at this point. Plus it’s free so I’m not complaining whatsoever. Been a Top Gun fan forever so all is good to me.

That would be awesome to fly

If you’re into fast jets, carriers and the military side of things then there’s a lot to get hyped about I think. Its going to be interesting to see what we get.

Fingers crossed.

I think thats a given.

I look forward to the movie. The DLC, not so much.

Do you think theyll add radar to the f18

Probably not allowed lol

Looking forward to both the movie and DLC… Jorg Neumann did say in the last Q&A that he was really impressed with the Top Gun DLC.

I don’t want to see fictional aircraft developed by MS/Asobo. If someone wants to do that on their own, then whatever. But if we’re going to go into having fictional stuff, I think its a road potentially derails any hope of MSFS being taken seriously as a sim.

It’s kind of his job to play cheerleader on this kind of thing, I don’t think you should read too deeply into it.

I’m surprised by how little we know about it. Presumably there’s things they could have told us about it which wouldn’t be movie related spoilers like, how the aircraft carriers work - do they move? Do the lifts work? What variants of the F-18 are we getting?

Anyway I’m really hyped and I’m taking things very seriously. Currently I’m doing my fast jet training in the Just Flight Hawk ready to graduate to Top Gun next week.

I’ve even ordered up this cap so I can attach my Track IR head sensor to it.

As I say, I’m taking this DLC very seriously.

I couldn’t care less. Tired of Hollywood not having any originality anymore. Everything is a repeat or it’s “Title II” “Title III” Title “IV” and so on.

Would not be surprised if gets delayed, no way we can Vr user enjoy such a dlc and xbox is full of bugs too.
On top of that really not a Top Gun fan, more of a ‘Black Hawk Down’.

There’s no one more than me who wants to see MSFS being considered a serious flight sim. The problem arises when MS are trying to target as wide an audience as possible that they’ll peddle anything “they” see fit.
I think MSFS is starting to be taken seriously by serious flight simmers like myself with the likes of PMDG 737 and the impending release of the Fenix A320.
I won’t even download any Top Gun DLC as it doesn’t interest me. I fly tubeliners!
I will go to the cinema to see it though.
