BTW what’s up with using true heating (T) at the top vs magnetic? That a mil thing? All the charts and runway localizer courses and stuff are magnetic heading, so this threw me off a bit a while back.
Also, on the n-1 version, the VS (at the bottom of the altitude on the HUD) was a little bit difficult to read since it’s the full number (like 1247 instead of 1240 or 1200/1250). I noticed that it’s common to round this off so it doesn’t change as frequently and you can see it. Something to consider for detail work at some point.
Yeah true heading is a mil thing. Though I’m not sure if fighters use it or not. I like it though, so plan on keeping it somewhere on the screen.
The HSI compass is in magnetic so that should help.
Good point on the VS. I’ll round it off to the nearest 50 before pushing out the update. Trying to get the selected speed and alt text back above the indicators (like the PMFD) right now.
Going to add a menu in the PMFD for the HUD pretty soon. Think I’m going to have the FD disabled by default, and give the ability to turn it on and off.
I just flew the latest update. HUGE improvement to frame rates in VR. I took off from Nellis AFB in Nevada. First I “intercepted” one of the AI traffic aircraft at FL31. I then climbed to FL60 and flew to San Diego. Then I descended to 100 FT AGL and tried to fly under the Coronado bridge, but unfortunately it was registered as a crash.
This bird is a lot of fun. I will have to try it out on the mach loop.
You should recognize my picture a few posts ago then!. Spend most of my air time in San Diego. Coronado bridge is messed up. You can see through the underside of it, but it’s a solid object in the game.
I live in San Diego so I too spend a lot of time flying around there. The first time I tried your plane I took off from Miramar MCAS. Interestingly there was a squadron of F-22s flying out of there last month.
@AdamBurry has been kind enough to spend his time building us a new cockpit for the aircraft. Please show him some love! Here are some pictures of the work so far. They’re also included in the top post.
Im going for DCS full fidelity quality, so everything i can find refs wise is going to be included, i won’t leave anything behind, if you guys see some errors tell me, cause finding refs of the cockpit is a nightmare.
as it goes time wise, i need like 4 -6 weeks to finish everything, than it’s up to the project lead of when to release it
