Mouse/Clickspots stop working in VR when returning from menu
Why is it that these two main bugs have still not been fixed even though they’re clearly stated in the Bug Logs & Weekly Dev Updates to be fixed for SU2?
These are listed as #1 and #3 of the most highly voted for VR fixes, can we get a definitive answer as to whether these will be fixed during this Beta period or not please?
It’s hard to fathom why less important/lower-voted VR issues are being addressed in SU2 while top-voted VR issues like the EFB are left to fester. If it’s that hard to fix, you either have made horrible design choices or hired underqualified coders.
Same issue, Mouse in VR has no interaction with any buttons or controls in VR but old work around is still valid, hit escape to go to menu and hit escape again to go back to current flight and then it works again. This is one of the 3 major bugs in VR and two of them, this and EFB are still not working. The top menu Toolbar is finally fixed in SU2 Beta but the other major VR bugs since release MSFS2024 not.
I don’t need to hit escape to go into menus etc. to fix this.
I have an Xbox controller as well as yoke, mouse etc connected to my PC
If I lose mouse function I just tap one of the sticks on the Xbox controller and the mouse returns.
Still not ideal, but a little more convenient that interrupting your flight
I agree with all that is said. A bug is a bug. Using the term “work-around” just further emphasizes that it is a bug in the first place.
Also to add what others said, some of us do have controllers but I don’t know where they are when I have a VR headset on. I can’t see them and don’t want to reach around for them.
Mark my words. . . .VR is the wave of the future. 5 years from now nobody will fly a plane, jet, glider, helicopter, or do any sort of “flight” at all unless they are in VR. Once you go VR, you don’t go back to being a “Flat-Screener”.
I hope Asobo, MS, and all developers realize this and emphasize and push higher priority to getting VR completely fixed in MSFS. It’s the wave of the future, the wave of the future, the wave of the future (sorry I was getting carried away in my “The Aviator” quoting)
Indeed, I might use VR controllers except I got used to 2020 crashing to desktop every single time a VR controller went to sleep and trained myself to operate the sim entirely with mouse, keyboard and HOTAS.
guys its just the start of SU2, not the end. they said they will fix the EFB VR issue for SU2 so Asobo has to deliver, lets give them time until SU2 is final.
and yes its an issue for me also, i fly exclusively in VR, quest3.
Come on. It’s the first SU2 beta build. There will be more to come. You don’t know the underlying problems with these bugs. They were obviously not able to fix it in the first beta build but that’s not saying they arent’s able to fix these bugs in a later build. Complaining about a fix not being in the first beta build of a SU is a bit premature. Consider starting to complain if there isn’t a fix in the realease version of SU2. I’m frustrated too. But this is getting ridiculous.
Disagree entirely, they’ve had ample time to fix these issues (one of them very simple) and going on past history with VR it’s a very worrying sign, all I’m asking for is clarity as to whether we will get these fixed in this beta or not.
It’s not a hard question to answer, communication is key so please mods can you find out what is going on. We’ve waited 4+months already…
Well, maybe it is a bug, that the clickspots are not working leaving the menu in a certain way. But there is a VERY EASY workaround, which even for most of us the usual way to leave the menu. So for me, the bug has really the lowest priority.
EFB, ok, for those who use it. I have never missed it, but its ok to fix it.
Guess it depends how they define the first build vs what they said what would be fixed in SU2. I guess the obvious interpretation, which I also had, is that the first build would already contain all announced fixes.
And then the subsequent builds would be for checking whether the fixes actually work, and to add more fixes if needed or as they come up.
You seem to be implying that some of the fixes that have been promised for a while will not reach SU2 until some subsequent build. Seems a bit counterintuitive, but I now hope that’s really the case!
Have we ever had major fixes (that had already been announced for a while) being added DURING a beta test phase? I genuinely don’t know.
