Perhaps you should read that statement again. The first part was about staying on topic, in the last sentence the mod mentioned that the bug was pushed to the developers. Not much, I agree, but it is something.
If they want they can fix multiple bugs every week but they choose not to. I donāt get why, maybe because of all the problems with their patching system they want to minimise the amount of updates.
And they fix bugs by popular vote and because of that we have so much bugs from last year which never get fixed because they will never reach top voted.
For me today apparently TrackIR is working properly again. No idea if itās the plane (JustFlight Piper Arrow) that is the cause. But I could look around, also with TrackIR loosing connection with itās receiver, and it did not turn itself off. So I have a bit hope!
*IMPORTANT
This was just posted in the December 2nd Development update
- Sim disables Track IR when tracking is lost or paused ā This happens when you are using Track IR and you look away from your screen
- The team has confirmed and identified the issue. A fix is in place for an upcoming release.
So no hotfix but the public testing opportunity will include a fix for the TrackIR issue and public testing if you choose to may be a good way forward for the future. I like that you will be able to remove yourself from testing the Preview and get updated back to the latest public build. Thank you Asobo.
Agreed, glad that something has come out about it now. I figured they would, just had to wait. I may actually opt into the public testing on this one just to get my trackir back sooner but Iāve also had a nearly perfect experience so far with this sim so Iām not sure I want to risk screwing that up with an uninstall/reinstall.
So they have a fix in place but we canāt have it for a few months⦠I appreciate them letting us know
I donāt actually recall the user base clamouring for a race game DLC.
I have noticed that quite a few users would like trains.
But I never saw any feature request vote or even a popular thread where a race game was being called for.
Did I miss that one?
Well, I sensed widespread and intense anticipation here in the days before it was released.
Anyway, that was just an example of something that somebody might be impatiently waiting for.
? The optional preview update will be open to everyone.
Itās understandable they donāt want to push a change without thorough tests first. Although on the other hand ⦠they do exactly that all the time, so I donāt know what the difference is.
(Cough.) When will they start doing this then?
Well its known about which is good - but a new development in the past couple of days on my rig is that looking too far up/down or left/right - like when looking at overhead panels or side panels etc - not only stalls Track I/R but also causes an instant CTD. So until there is a fix I will have to avoid using it.
It may be the latest Nvidia drivers - before this it would just stop and need restarting via the button on the on-screen menu. Hope the eventual hotfix stops this as well !
(Rig is Geforce 2080Ti, Intel I9, 32GB good quality RAM, Win 10.)
It will be open to anyone who owns the sim through the Microsoft Store (PC) or Xbox.
DOUBLEYOU-TEE-EF?
So if I understand this correctly, they have a fix, but they will not let us have it over the holiday season where I have holidays and finally time to actually get some hours in?
I hardly got to play this year due to being busy with mostly work and family, and now when I was really looking forward to having some available time to play, they broke it for me
what a sh1tshow!
Iām glad I didnāt buy any new stuff during the black week offers, not spending any more money on this. So far I was rather happy and I didnāt complain much about any other problems, but now Iām rather angry and disappointed.
The only time in the year that I have the opportunity to get some value for the money I have spent on this product: gone for this year. Thanks, Asobo; good job, you really know how to turn customer satisfaction into a rage, thatās a skill!
This is the problem with monolithic release schedules in 2021. Small fixes that pass QA should not require waiting on a full package of features and fixes.
That sucks. I bought on steam
Well, at least Asobo has announced they intend to fix TrackIR. The sim is unflyable for me right now, so Iāll join the public testing release with the TrackIR fix.
And this is a good plan for Asobo in the futureā¦each new WU or SU is released on an optional public testing version first. For those who have a smooth simming experience already, they can opt out of the public testing version until it becomes an official release.
Good plan, Asobo!
I did a semi-fix here to at least make it less annoying. I bound the ātoggle head trackingā action to a handy button combo, it works to re-enable TIR after it drops, so at least I donāt have to bring up the camera menu anymore.
Not a fix or even much of a workaround, admittedly, but itās less bad than toggling it manually each time.
My suspicion is that they have seen the votes, found the cause of the problem, found a fix for the problem and have the code ready to deploy.
A bit like buying something online and being told it has been picked, packed and despatched. OK, that doesnāt mean your parcel has been delivered, but as far as the vendor is concerned, the order is complete.
Iām not saying that this is (or isnāt) how it should be, but I suspect that it is how it is.
TrackIR has been fixed in the upcoming optional āpublic betaā that is to be released tomorrow. Iām using it now and itās back to normal.
Hopefully, and this is purely based on 1. the version number 1.21.17.0 and 2. the wording in the insiders hub āSim Update VII Update previewā that this is indeed an SU7 patch as an optional preview to get a large feedback base before a full release to fix this an other pressing issues.
