Didnât MSFS 2020 support it from day 1? I use TrackIR myself and donât remember.
Nope, it took several weeks or months
No support for TrackIR would be a no-buy FS2024 for me, so I hope they donât miss that out

Since MSFS 2024 is built on top of MSFS 2020, thereâs no reason why it wouldnât be supported from day 1âŠ

Not true.
There was no initial VR for 2020 which forced me to dig my TrackIR out of storage. It worked straight away.
Hi i have mine since 2000 it works perfect.
Sorry, it wasnât supported in alpha, they added it right before launch.
It would be nice if TrackIR would finally work on Xbox. But I fear that this is unlikely to be the case.
Not going to, you need the TrackIR software running and you canât do that on XB
In the developers livestream today they confirmed that TrackIR will be available from the start (and also Tobii)

Working for us here too. Note this info. I shared below is for Windows 10 updated and Windows11 PC based systems. I will share donât ask me about other types of OS based systems running using Linux OS versions which includes Windows OS options using (VM) to run MSFS via Windows Virtual Machine platform . Oh Not to mention Windows Serverâs most recent Windows server OS and prior to run MSFS 2020 on. I AM certain there are variants OS ( operating systemâs))) such as Linux OS platforms and that are a little more involved to make MSFS run on . However This simple share is based on what the majority is using for their Operating System ( OS) . Windows 10 /11 . Note I am summarizing my thoughts and not in no way assuming you are not an ( Lol - laugh out loud) for example ; a Star Wars Jedi of computers and programming and expert programmer. You may be for sure and have exhausted all of your options over the last 4 years plus ââ since the release of MSFS 2020 in August 2020.
Anyway our follow mates or mate::
Most likely you already covered for this but make sure the TrackIr is updated including the default MSFS gaming profiles and other game profiles that Naturalpoint provided as optional automatic updates over the years . Note that Trackir had a recent update in 2024 . Also do you have Trackir 4 or 5 . Not certain if 4.0 is the issue. You may need to check on this through their Natural pointâs forum. Never know.
Note that on your hardrive I believe Trackir âs folder is named Naturalpoint. Most likely you know this already too. I am sure you will say it works in the Trackir setup screen and other applications but not in MSFS. You may need to contact Asobo if this has been an issue for sometime. Oh just remembered you may need to delete the a specific xml file in the Natural point folder. That is if you didnât do this already . I canât remember those details, but Iâll look it up And add the link instructions from Naturalpointâs forum if I can find it. Note there are other more involved info that others shared in the Trackirâs forum which involves the Windows registry. Try the xml file option first ( see the link that I did promise earlier to find for you) . Reboot your PC after the deletion of the xml file and then after the reboot open up TrackIr app to redo your preferred settings. Than afterwards open MSFSmay help you. Check if it shows up in your Controllers settings in MSFS.
FYI â Before you do anything like deleting the xml file always make sure you open the Trackir App before opening MSFS 2020 if not Msfs will not see the trackir equipment under Msfs Controller settings which is found under General settings. Most likely you are aware of this too. Note that TrackIr has an âOPTION â when you open the Trackir app for a user to select to automatically open it when you log into Windows so to eliminate the task of opening the Trackir app manually prior to opening MSFS. Have a good evening. Quick thoughts from us for you. Note you can always reach out to Naturalpoint too. They are TRACKIR . Even join their forum for advisement. That is if you didnât do this already . I always assume âsomeone didâ before assuming not . I will also share that Iâm reserved about 2024 just like I was reserved about 2020 when it first came out, but I was first in line to order 2020 back in the day because I said what do I have to lose? I was so impressed with the advertisements.
