Hi,
I know Aerosoft was working on a simple traffic add-on as the one we have on other platforms but they ditched their plans due to the latest update (thanks Asobo…).
Now that we have to tweak on our own, does anyone know if there is a way to have live traffic (or even a simulated one) with real life airlines liveries depending on the location ?

There is a addon (available throught flightsim.to), but most of the aircraft’s model (737, 787…) has been taking down by AiG due to some (pathetic) “copyrights reasons”, so It’s no that realistic. As far as I know, there isn’t yet an addon like this :x
Yeah, sometimes it feels like AIG is holding the community hostage.
Check out this guy’s mod… his mods are amazing and a must have, along with his Subtle Taxi Ribbon mods… 
While it doesn’t directly help your live traffic livery situations, as this mod doesn’t directly have air traffic liveries. But it does set up a platform to start applying a matching livery, depending on how many liveries you have that are configured to use for AI Traffic.

No, that’s you because you don’t know how permissions work. AIG has permission from the model and livery authors to use those models with their flightplans. Some of them are also made by only for AIG themselves, not anyone else.
If other addon makers want to use those models and textures, they should ask permission from the original authors.
It isn’t pathetic at all. Those people didn’t have permission to use those models and liveries. How would you like it if people used your stuff without asking?
Some of the models and textures are owned by AIG, it is completely within their right to have them removed for being used without permission.
Could care less about AIG. Would much rather have a payware dev come in and take over this marketshare.
At least as a beta tester you get to enjoy it atm

Ok. Perhaps AIG is actually going to do something with the said assets then? It’s been a long wait and the silence is deafening.
It’s being worked on right now but MSFS’s AI systems and other things are lacking and causing issues.
There would be a ton of bug reports for things they can’t fix because it’s the fault of the sim not them.

Well untl they fix the MDL issue, things are limited. My mod used mdls and now i have to use a combo mod, part mdl, part vanilla because too many mdl crashes. Until spawning live traffic takes off a moot point.
I can hardly wait for a proper real traffic add on. I’ll gladly pay for one like Ultimate Traffic or Traffic Global. In the meantime - since the last update my ai models have been messed up. I used to have plenty of 737s in appropriate livery etc but now hardly a boeing of any kind except the odd 777 appears at all. I don’t think I changed anything and I’ve spent the last few days trying to recover them without success trying all kinds of mods and tweaks - sigh.
Have any of you had this experience? Did you find a solution?
no. Before SU5 , I had a real traffic mod that worked 99% of the time with 120 models! Now I had to mothball it and use bits and pieces. I use A320 as generic , using vanilla textures/models. So when other models I have dont match, hopefully A320 will match up. I have GA aircraft like pipers,cessnas and business jets so most GA show up, otherwise they will be represented as A320’s.
Since S5 , there are also texture rendering issues. It can take time for textures to load or become visible. ASOBO really messed up everything.
No, I don’t CARE how permissions work. I still say it is sophomoric to create something that you freely distribute for the world to use, but then when someone bundles them into a package for ease of use and does NOT charge for it, you cry foul.
It is just AI liveries after all and maybe some low poly models. It isn’t like people are piloting them.
We will never agree on this one and I am bowing out of this discussion because it is pointless.
Free doesn’t mean free to use anyway you want. It just means you don’t have to pay for it.
There’s these things called licenses.
Like for example FlyByWire A320 is free, but you can’t just use it however you want, there are limitations based on the license.
You’d rather pay for something than get it for free? Odd.
There will probably be some eventually once Asobo sorts out the AI system. There were a few payware options for FSX/P3D.
