Triple Monitor Setup Distorted Perspective

:white_check_mark: SIM INFORMATION

This is vital information for our test team, please do not skip it or your issue may not be able to be reproduced or fixed.

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

  • Version Build Number 1.1.7.0

  • Game Platform Steam

:white_check_mark: ISSUE DESCRIPTION

  1. Description of the issue: Triple Monitor setup. Side render windows do not align properly. I can get them close, but changing ‘zoom’ distorts and does not keep a consistent FOV on the side monitors.

  2. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? No mods/add-ons are installed.

:white_check_mark: FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you? (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently) Continuous

:white_check_mark: REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue.

  1. Added 2 render windows (one for left, one for right)
  2. Tried to get adjust settings for ‘lateral rotation’ but unable to compare to main center monitor.
  3. Added render window #3 to display main center monitor, moved menu to overhead monitor.
  4. Adjustments made to left monitor with negative values, right with positive values (approximately -75.6/75.6 lines up the best at default zoom/camera angle), does not render properly with incorrect FOV and angles depending on the zoom level.

:white_check_mark: YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

  1. What peripherals are you using, if relevant: N/A

  2. [PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it? N/A, no changes made.

  3. [PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12? N/A

  4. [PC Only] Many issues may be due to an outdated graphics card. Please state your Graphics Card Driver Manufacturer (NVIDIA, Intel, AMD) and Version (Learn how to find your current graphics card driver version): Nvidia, version 566.14

  5. [PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share? Intel 14900k, MSI 4080 Super Suprim X, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64gb DDR5 6000, 3x 2560x1440p curved with side monitors set at ~45-50degrees

:white_check_mark: MEDIA

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.
Each attachment shows a screenshot of the renders and a picture taken from the approximate location of my view point. At Default Zoom, the horizon near the center of the displays is fairly horizontal. Zoomed-out the horizon angles up and everything below and the perspective becomes distorted.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• YES

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• When creating a second render window, it is absolutely impossible to set the correct angle. This is mainly due to the fact that it has a continuously rotating external view when you are in the menu. Switching to the free camera doesn’t help here and access to the cockpit view is not possible during the settings. Please finally ensure a user-friendly triple monitor setup.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
• Not necessary. The description says it all

• YES, though I’m using 90/-90 for my best line-up.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Notably, Render ‘Window 1’ always seems to be the window that ‘pinches’/'distorts. So windows 2/3/4… etc. do not experience this.

Workaround I’ve found that may help explain the issue:
Window 1 ‘stretches’/pinches if you don’t initialize all three windows before starting a flight. So each time you go to start up the game, do this:

  1. Launch Game
  2. Open Graphics Settings, toggle a setting. It’ll force all three render windows to open
  3. Fly.

The window will appear to render correctly until the msfs 24 is restarted.

• YEs

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• When adding additional render windows, Window 1 is always distorted - Appears to be zoomed all the way out. Zooming in zooms all three monitors in (as Asobo have failed to heed multiple requests to allow us to zoom each render window independently.)

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

As you can see, the right hand window is zoomed all the way out whilst the centre and left are zoomed to about 70%. Zooming in or out zooms them all in or out.

Same issue - need to restart the simulator each time

Same here. In addition, the first of the two extra viewports renders at the wrong aspect ratio, despite the resolution being correct.

Please Aserbo, just do like Assetto Corsa, or ACC, and allow us to span the main window across three monitors, and have a triple screen mode where we can adjust angle and bezel correction. Racing sims have solved this for a decade.

For what its worth - I’ve started a triple monitor wishlist post here

Having the same issue. Created a separate bug report for it here: Triple Monitor - Left monitor displays wrong aspect ratio

Have you setup tripple screen with default at 50 in general settings menu before you started to add the left and right view

Instead of zoomed in to desired you want

For this can make a huge difference in end result.

I mean i have not perfected yet (read fine tuned)
But no zoom distortion

Also check this small video at eyepoint change what happens to perspective on the sim
It is from my onedrive.

And this took me less than 10 minutes to set up
This screenshots and video took lot longer

The point is where you want youre preference to sit mainly in your cockpit related
To which favorite zoom point and place you sit in front of your screens
Also is it important at what degree you have your screens positioned.

And more important the screens is your eyes so they determine perspectives and scale
Translate left or right is handy to use with this in relay to screen size

Also checkout drone view wih zoomed in after setup
And outside view zoomed in after setup
And pan above the airplane it all fits like a glove

Hope this provide some info
on setup multi window in msfs2024

Moved to User Support Hub Install, Performance & Graphics since a solution has been marked.

It looks ok at default zoom and zoomed in, but zooming out it looks terrible. I tried to at least fly after one of the last updates on my desk monitor (3440x1440) but get constant crashing once I get airborne… Gonna try the game after one of the next updates and see how things go

Still an issue. Left monitor renders horribly. Cannot get side monitors anywhere near close to right.
