With the delay of the Ju52, which planes would be in the 15-30ish passenger capacity region? I’d dearly need one for short hops in OnAir. The sim is severly lacking in this department.
The DC-6, while I love it is just too much airliner already. I am looking for the get up and go type of deal. I also rather fly props/ turbos. I am not a big fan (pun intended) of jets
OnAir works in a way that you have to declare seats a class and the higher the class the less seats fit in the plane. So for example the BN-2 has 6 seats for first class.
Are there any planes I may have overlooked, currently close to completion? My list:
Aerosoft Twin Otter, Update today from Aerosoft that it is still a ways away from completion
Aeroplane Heaven DC-3, nice screenshots, no concrete information on a release as of today (facebook)
Milviz ATR-72, no information on progress
MSFS ATR-72, no information on progress
MSFS Junkers 52, planned for September 28th
Nextgen Simulations Bandeirante, not really high fidelity and lacking updates
Nextgen Simulations Saab 340B, no information on progress
AT Simulations AN-2, sometime 2021 (facebook)
Blackbox Islander, got it already, love it, but a smidgeon too small
Anyone know anything more? I will update this post if I get any new information.
The Caravan is good for 13 with a FAR Part 23 waiver
Simworks are working on a Quest Kodiak though I believe that may be more like 9 passengers not 12.
Some mob called Total Aviation were talking about a Dornier 228 at one stage. No idea who they are or if the project got off the ground or is even real.
Also - someone was working on a Cessna SkyCourier at one point last year but I do not think they were an established developer so who knows what happened there.
You probably are thinking of the Simworks Kodiak but it is not ready yet - though already looking very good …
Another small update on the Kodiak. The exterior is pretty much a wrap and we are doing the final adjustments to our liveries! On that front, we were honoured to acquire a license from Aviation Sans Frontières to make a livery for the Kodiak in their colours!
We are also in the process of adding cargo to the cabin that will depend on the aircraft configuration and weight in each station. In the picture below you can see three levels of cargo loading on the various stations:
-Light load: two rows of boxes stacked
-Medium load: four rows (background)
-Heavy load: six rows (forward half of the aircraft)
We are also working hard to add some weight-based passenger models into the cabin, but the timeframes are tight. There is a bit more fixing to do in the cabin but we expect to have the various stencils and fixes done by Friday, to close out the model.
Another little update before the weekend, we have added cargo nets to the cabin. Currently, we have them set up in three positions across the cabin, where they will appear based on where you load the cargo.
