[Tutorial] How to get airliners traffic closer to reality with real liveries

why don’t you just link where you are getting your models from?

Then we can all pull from there..easy peesy.

When we were making A320 mod, we were showing people how to do it!

teach someone to fish and all of that.

AIG should either get out of the way or make something.

They are working hard on a MSFS 2020 version with a possible release 4th quarter(thats technically in 2-5 months). Then you will have your AI, and ALL the models and liveries you need and updates and support. Rreleasing an unfinished product isnt their style and they don’t have the manpower to offer support while still building it.

Freeware is not equal to free distribution, get some knowledge on law first before posting such rubbish

Actually you should get some knowledge enough to realize there are people here from over 100 countries and they have different laws. For example the Russian sites still have that Traffic mod because in Russia the authorities don’t crack down on copyright and bootleg stuff. Infact their equivalent to face book, Vkontact, has a movie section which is full of all 1st run movies. They don’t get taken down. Even Canada handles piracy different than the US does. It is really on the US and certain EU countries that are extreme with this tuff. In China they don’t give a ■■■■. Boo hoo if you complain to their version of flightsim.to.

p.s. I read Russian and I know for a fact the mod was still up after it was taken down on english sites.

solution:
That :kid" only had Mid east and Asia left, why don’t a persoin from AIG make BGLS for those places and upload them? it is a days work at best.

Disclaimer:I can’t even use those BGLS for my mod without re writing my mod which would take weeks.

p.s. Stop talkiing about LAW if you aren’t a lawyer or ever worked in the field..LAW isn’t cut and dry. If it was we wouldn’t waste billions on lawyers. We spend billions on lawyers because law isn’t clear-cut. We pay lawyers to debate and argue and try to interpret THE law to fit their needs to win a case. Anyone who ever had a divorce knows the LAW is flexible when in the hands of lawyers lol

This is going out of hand and peeps want the credit. It is fair, but getting to protective about stuff you don’t even earn on?

We had many models that worked perfectly on fsx and p3d. Also many repaints and a free ability to increase or decrease the amount of traffic. Also the excellent PSXseecontraffic program for those who do not want ATC, but who gives life to the airports and the skies. Also lorbylivetraffic, which is capable of injecting traffic observing reality and taking care of the atc rules.
We had many possibilities to consider this fun and free simulator game. Even aerosoft has given up.
now msfs does not help us to have free air traffic. we depend on them. They probably want to sell us a traffic they are designing.
There is only one hope: free developers, geniuses who are capable of playing with computer laws and making traffic work.
lets go!

Just to be clear : i have a heavy respect for AIG (And they didn’t ask for anything from flightsim.to), I am convinced that they will release something very good, that is why I specify on my file that it is a mod “pending” and that it is not perfect.

I will comply with flightsim.to requests and submit the corrected file.

Please be cool, enjoy the sim and respect all :slight_smile:

Starting from the base that all (or almost all) what we like the most is realism, my reflection is in defense of the poor air traffic. He is the big loser in the magnificent MSFS. What makes great “simulators-games”, in fsx or prepar3d was its unlimited architectural capacity that made it possible for people of different computer levels to put and remove “things”. Expand airports, put lights on or remove, remodel planes and, of course: add air traffic. tweaking every day, like a “lego” that had its effects in our fantasy.

Those of us who love to land in an big airport with a lot of traffic or a little one, we enjoyed adding our own repaints or models, or those of others who had decided to share them with users. In short, a beautiful amalgam of freedom where the rough laws of property were not threatened by the ARTISTIC will and the desire to have fun flying.

MSFS: If you expand your catalog of freedom and let many creatives burst in with their desire to share, without taking everything to the business world, not only will we vote for it always but they will also earn double the money.

This little writing is a reflection for the boss of the great boss of the super boss of MSFS: “Open doors, and heavens, let the fsx aircraft models work, offer possibilities, and everything will have a positive impact, not only economically”.

a hug, to the big developers and for the little one: neither can live without the other.

The mod is back… BUT on request of AIG (one 3D model are an AIG model) i will remove all textures and all models because i cant distribute models and textures files… only .CFG files. I need to get authorisation for each texture and each model…endless work.

We will lost this aircraft and liveries:

  • B752/B752W
  • B763/B763W
  • B764
  • B789
  • B78X
  • BCS1
  • BCS3
  • CRJ2
  • CRJ9
  • CRJX
  • DH8D
  • E170
  • E190
  • MD11
  • A333
  • A343
  • A321NEO
  • AT75/76

If you want theses aircraft in your traffic, now you need to make it yourself now:

  • Download IVAO MTL app,
  • Create a fake .exe for FSX or P3DV if you havent this sims
  • Download model per model, texture per texture
  • Write a script who clean .cfg files, make models for each liveries
  • Correcting some .MDL with modelconvertx who are bugged in MS2020
  • Make a layout.json
  • dont sleep some nights.

Welcome to the very closed world of AI planes where people want you be competent enough to build up temporary AI traffic on your own but without sharing your work with the community for free.

Aircraft Always included:

  • A319
  • A320
  • A321
  • A332
  • A346
  • A359
  • B788
  • B77L
  • B77W
  • B738
  • B739
  • B744
  • B748

So I just won’t update my last download of your mod. Hihi

Lot of issue with this, some tips!

  • Contact points (no more floating above the ground) :wink:
  • Change takeoff speed from 55 to 140 :wink:
  • Do a correct conversion via “msfsLegacyImporter” and correct also errors…
  • Avoid the still FS9 models in there…
  • Texture work plus light sections…

Hello,

Thanks to the author for his work, it’s nice to see planes with non generic textures.

I did a search on the forum but I didn’t find anything (except a member who says that you have to modify the aircraft.cfg without saying how to do it).

In the airport at some gate I have piston engines instead of airliners.

Is there any possibility to fix this ? and how to do it

Thanks in advance

Olivier

Question with which program did you create the static airport files? (*.bgl)
Not with ADE… nevermind found the solution :wink:

Good day, anyone know why the planes never take off or land?

They do for me :slight_smile:

Hi folks!
Thanks for this mod very nice but I see a little trouble planes seems to be floating on the air when they parked…

I have a feeling this might be an SDK limitation. Also wondering about third party airports that don’t get the ground level 100%

I haven’t seen any of the models with retractable landing gear yet either

I’m wondering the same! It only happens with A32s and A332 :pensive:
Any advice @Thomas8562 ?

Liking the mod but…

have "realtime online " traffic selected (rather than “ai traffic offline” and “generic plane modes(AI)” - and find I get a nice mix of traffic but at heathrow not seeing any BA and in New York no american airlines ! - have I set it up wrong?
Update: have tried the static aircraft mod (thats recommended to work with it) - however eventhough it looks great I seem to have now lost any traffic moving round the airport or taking off and landing?! (maybe its gone invisible because I can hear engines running!) - also its showing in the enhanced traffic mod (eventhough I seem to be getting alot of simconnect “errors” - so assume some is spawning (but not seeing anything!) any help appreciated…

working for me with WU6 but all the planes floating above the ground, any one know how to solve the problem ?

I am getting invisible planes now, nothing is appearing, anyone got a solution? The planes are there but they are just invisible. I have done everything correctly and it was working perfectly until now.

These issues are probably caused by wheel contact points are not positioned in the correct spot if that applies to the same aircraft types any time. These virtual points tell the game where the wheels sit when extended so in these cases the points are below the wheels 3D model.

This is because MSFS populates gates with random aircraft who fit the gates type without respect of any airline code (the default airports don’t use airline codes at gates like BA or AAL). So all these liveries just got random selected and you gonna see a Binter ATR at KSFO :wink:

The static aircraft mod fixes this by either adding airline codes to the gates of specific airports or placing static aircraft models into the spot (depending on the authors approach).

There is unfortunately nothing the community can do, ai traffic is broken by now as aircraft won’t move out of their parking spots. Probably that’s an issue with ground service/pushback tug not reacting on ai anymore since SU5. It also happens on vanilla ai traffic models. Some aircraft just sit tight with engines running so that’s the noise :wink:

Btw. as mdl support seems to get worse with every update it’s about time to move away from using these rather old IVAO aircraft sets and either create new models from scratch or wait for AIG to properly convert aircraft models. There are some known downsides when it comes to using old FSX mdl models:

  • Performance decreases/stutter when loading aircraft due to (failing) material conversions done in real time on loading the models
  • UV map disortions since SU5 leading to white or incorrect shown liveries
  • Missing reflections, just the diffuse map is shown properly
  • All-time-on light maps (like cabin windows)
  • Missing effects like contrails and dynamic lights (e.g. landing lights on gear extension) as these are now node controlled

About ATC I created two lists with all currently supported manufacturers, types and models. If you set these in aircraft.cfg you get the correct readout!

Example:

atc_type = "TT:ATCCOM.ATC_NAME DEHAVILLAND.0.text"
atc_model = "TT:ATCCOM.AC_MODEL DH8D.0.text"

Some other heads up: I found a way to get ATC read out any aircraft model and manufacturer (which are not in the localization files) which differs from FSX.

atc_type="$$:Airbus Helicopters"
atc_model="$$:H135"

this would let ATC tell you to report a Airbus Helicopters H135 to be in sight :wink:
On some models the correct way to call the localization or the “$$:” parameter in aircraft.cfg are missing so the aircraft type is not mentioned at all.

If you want correct livery matching on any ai aircraft ensure the following lines are included in your [FLTSIM.X].

icao_airline=“AAL”
isAirTraffic=1
isUserSelectable=0

in this example the line would match American Airlines liveries on ai traffic, a livery which is not selectable by the user to fly with :wink:

Also, for correct model matching provide icao data in the [GENERAL] section of the aircraft.cfg:

icao_type_designator ="C17"
icao_manufacturer ="BOEING"
icao_model ="C-17 Globemaster 3"
icao_engine_type ="Jet"
icao_engine_count ="4"
icao_WTC ="H"
icao_generic="0"

this can be looked up on the icao website:
