I’m new to MSFS2024. I need directions or tutorials to follow as I learn the software. Suggestions?
Best to ask specific questions of Google search, Youtube, or here.
The MSFSOfficial youtube channel has some useful intro stuff
Some of the first party airplanes have manuals here:
It depends on what you want to learn!
There is a dedicated section of the forums, Tips & Troubleshooting, that contains articles that can help, and there are dedicated aircraft manuals for many aircraft.
If you have specific questions, our members have an amazing amount of knowledge that they freely share, feel free to post your questions here in the User Support Hub.
I have seen payware tutorial videos that are available as well.
Welcome aboard!
Well, I just want to fly . Whatever is available. Cessan, 150, 172. I just don’t know how to begin
Hi @RV14a5004
Have you tried the in-game tutorials? On the Home page, click on “Activities”:
Then Flight Training:
Then run through the Basic Handling training lessons:
Once you have completed the Basic Handling lessons, you can go Free Flight from the home page:
If the Cessna 172 is not the aircraft shown:
Click on it to open the aircraft selection page and choose it:
then return to the free flight world map, select any airport in the world, choose your flight conditions & go fly!
Hope this helps!
Do you know your controller inputs already? Xbox or PC?
You might want to start with the Flight School sections, which I think are under Activities on the main screen (although I haven’t looked at the Flight School since the 2020 version…)
The fastest way to get flying is to click on Free Flight on the main screen.
- Choose your plane (eg, Cessna 172 G1000)
- Zoom in on the World map to an airport.
- Click on the Airport and Select Departure - this will put your plane on the runway ready to go
- Click Fly Now, and you’ll be in the plane, configured to take off.
You’ll need to know what the keyboard or controller inputs are for all the basic things like throttle, flaps, trim, and of course how to control the yoke - this is best learned via the Flight School.
When you have specific questions (and you will have many) try Youtube or ask here on the forum, where most of us learned!
these are great suggestions. ty
