Simply put, everything was working this morning when I did a flight. The update was a launched and there was no update available. When I tried to launch the sim I was met with an error message. Uninstalled and attempted to reinstall and now it just gives me an error.
So far I’ve completed multiple restarts, logged in/out of the Xbox app/Store, and reset/repaired gaming services. Also tired to install it from the Windows store instead of the Xbox App and it now says I don’t own the game when I was a TA tester lol. So here I sit and it looks like there are others.
Yeah, similar boat. When I launch post-update, it gets through the Asobo/Blackshark logos, starts to load, and then just folds. I have been in and out of the beta, and have had no isues with prior updates. I was going to uninstall/reinstall, but your message here made me put a pause on that.
One thing I just noticed is that, while I uninstalled in Steam and WIndows, all of the files were still there. I’ve now done a manual delete of the MSFS folder and I’m trying a full re-install now. Seems to be going through the steps now of actually reinstalling.. (edit with image included: then again, maybe not)
Same thing. I did a ‘verify game integrity’ through Steam which pretty much deletes most of the game and now online services is down so cannot load the 300GB back and game stays stuck on loading screen. Does not look like I will be playing today.
Yeah, on the various MSFS facebook forums, people are now talking about the connectivity issues, so I would hold on uninstalling anything (for me its too late) and wait for the servers to come back up before making a decision about your own updates/installs.
As it seems to be a server issue, deleting everything and generally trying too hard ISN’T going to fix it. Leave it alone, go and have a cup of tea, wait for the rush to subside.
I always wondered why the hell rich companies have problems with servers during launches/updates. First Wargaming with World Of Tanks, then Blizzard with Overwatch, now Microsoft. Like, it’s not that hard to have a reserve servers for a major update/launch of the new game with that amount of money. I’m pretty sure that they have a team, that predicts the possible complications of such events too
^ I’d assume companies bank server bandwidth for avg daily use, plus a bit more for launch days - but it’s 1-3 days of high traffic, then back to more normal - so probably not efficient to put a ton more servers online for a couple days, then pull them again.
Actually, it’s the thousands of people who are choosing to use a finite resource at the same time which is causing the issue. Like the sheeple stationary on a freeway during peak hour. Not the freeway’s fault. Their fault for engaging in a predictable bottleneck.
I got a game needs to sync, and it was a 1.1gb sync now it won’t load.
I’d agree if Microsoft hadn’t had cash on hand to buy Besdthda Studios for $10 billion or, didn’t have thousands of servers, or their own cloud hosting service…
