Update 1.2.7.0 engine fumes visible in the cockpit

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

The new update 1.2.7.0 has brought the engine fumes inside the cockpit for at least the Draco X and Zlin, rendering them completely unuseful in VR. Fortunately it is not happening in the Cubcrafters X Cub.

The issue was not happening before. It appears with update 1.2.7.0.

Is actually anyone in Asobo using VR? MSFS2024 is completely full of bugs in VR, and new updates only make them worse for flying in VR

• I have the same issue. It happens as soon as you enter the cockpit in VR with the engine running.

• There is no exhaust gas outside the aircraft, only in my right eye inside the cockpit, and it’s displayed over all cockpit instrumentation. This only started after the most recent update.

PC, Game Pass
Developer mode is off, no mods installed
RTX 3070, latest drivers
AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
HP Reverb G2
Windows 10 Pro build 19045.5131

Same issue, as soon as I enter VR, you can see the heat blur by your feet.

I have exactly the same issue with DRACO fumes in the cockpit in VR. I’m using an RTX4090 and Pimax crystal light. The fumes are not visible in the cockpit when I jump back to flat screen mode.

I understand that is not a solution but i have removed all HEAT…fx files from the effects directory and it helps remove the over exaggerated unrealistic heat effect distortion, I always ride real aircraft behind the wing where I would see the heat wave which simply does not exist, well never to the ridicules amount as depicted by the simulator maybe lower by a factor of 1000 then we talk, i know my personal opinion but that is the most ridicules unrealistic effect ever I have NEVER EVER SEEN THIS IN REAL LIFE ON REAL FLIGHT

In my case as a steam user:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Limitless\Packages\fs-base-effects\VisualEffectLibs\Asobo\Base

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Limitless\Packages\fs-base-effects-legacy\effects

I tried renaming files I thought might sensibly be the problem and it didnt work, so i just renamed every file that had the word HEAT in it and one of them has fixed the problem, I didn’t waste time keep reloading the sim to find which file or files are the culprit, I don’t mind having no heat effect in the sim.

It works in the Zlin A Norden and the A400, but strangely enough not in the Draco X.

Can also report heat blur in right eye in VR. especially bad in Draco but seems several turbine props effected: also the Kodiak 100. But not for the H145. Seems to be associated with engines in front of cockpit. Can start cold and dark and no heat blur. As soon as fuel introduced to spinning turbine the ‘wobble’ starts up. Switching to external view eliminates the effect. Thanks for the heat blur tip to remove. Will give that a go as it’s not very realistic effect in the slipstream.

For me Draco was fixed, these were names that I renamed the files to in the two folders:-

I included any files related to exhaust and heat, because I don’t know if Draco borrows the effects from another aircraft. Maybe someone else would like to kindly go through the files one by one to see which files are used by Draco, and let us know. It will take a fair bit of time having to keep rebooting the sim to do this test.

Did some testing… To get rid of the cockpit heatblur in the Draco and Zlin Norden you have to rename

…fs-base-effects-legacy\effects

FX_Asobo_M_REACTORHEAT_TBM930.fx
FX_Asobo_M_REACTORHEAT_CAP10.fx

You don’t have to rename anything in
…fs-base-effects\VisualEffectLibs\Asobo\Base

But the A400 gets heatblur in the back if you don’t rename the Heat files there.
