This would only be useful if your Community folder path is somewhere other than the default, correct?
Probably… not 100% sure. My community folder is on my D: drive.
It was downloading as I read this, quickly stopped the download and closed the window. Now the Sim is just completely gone. My gawd how inept!!! Opting out of the beta and to be honest I don’t think I’ll download SU1. Maybe I should leave in the cloud scrapyard. Back to old faithful, 2020.
This has completely wiped everything from me! I cant believe this, all my add ons, simbrief, everything!!
Would system restore work…?
Nice. Wiped everything for me as well. Not the first time either…
Heads up: IF your community folder isn’t wiped (mine was in a custom location, so it thankfully didn’t erase all of my add-ons), remember it resets EVERYTHING, so now I am having to “unstream” any airports I don’t want streamed by Asobo so that my 3rd party addons in my community folder will work.
ie: EGLL
I see that too. Very strange.
The trainwreck that keeps on trainwrecking. Biggest software company in the world gentlemen
They need to stop the automatic downloads for those it has not yet affected please. Probably because I closed the sim before it was my turn. I would like to keep it that way as I, and many others are not tech savvy and this would be the last straw trying to figure out how to fix this mess.
MSFS Addon Linker has a great utility to make it a bit easier
Same; which is why I’m fairly confident any of us who were in SU1 beta/flighting program are the ones impacted.
I’ve left the entire beta preview for time being… not dealing with this nonsense again.
Absolute joke!
Well done. 300GB wiped! All of my add ons, I`m done.
Hi there! Wondering if you could point me to the instructions to leave the beta program? I was searching the other day as I had a bad feeling but couldn’t find the forum post with the instructions to leave. Many thanks ![]()
Community folder wiped as well
The whole 2024 debacle just gets more embarrassing each day that passes!
this happened a couple of times in msfs 2020 too. ![]()
for those whose community folders got wiped – do you have any type of PC backup? (if you’re on Xbox, I’d assume there’s nothing that can be done)
And that will by magic restore deleted configurations and gigabyts of addons in community folder?
not sure what you’re asking. If you had a backup of your community folder, you’d just restore it. In re: to “deleted configurations” I don’t know what you’re asking
