Using GLS or GBAS approach

Several runways at YMML and YSSY have GBAS approach systems (let me know if I am using the incorrect term). Is there a tutorial on this sort of approach? I ‘fly’ FBW A32N and have just started learning PMDG 737-700. I assume you don’t activate LS (FBW) as per ILS approach. But is it a similar process to RNAV approach? Any guidance welcome.

Hello,
For flying questions, we generally ask that people use Basic Gameplay Help. Your post has been moved there.

thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

GBAS is a system needed to fly a GLS approach, it’s not an approach by itself.

Thanks for clarifying

I didn’t think the FS2020 A320nx had GLS capability. Does anyone know for sure?

I suspect not. I didn’t realise the aircraft needs specific capability for GLS approach. I wonder if any in MSFS are equipped.

The aircraft does need (and probably has) the right equipment for it, the G in GBAS stands for ground. You need a ground station to augment the GPS position. Its somewhat similar to a RNP approach, its categorized as a precision approach but there are already LPV approaches with the same level of accuracy. Don’t think it’s implemented in MSFS (yet).

As is known to me,

no addon has this capability. It needs sim implementation of course and then addon can have also this feature. On other side, in case it is inside sim, Navigraph can show some of them also, no this time.
