:white_check_mark: ISSUE DESCRIPTION

  1. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

There are no mods.

  1. Description of the issue:

After a flight the Earths globe moves and spins in kind of an orbit. I have to keep my head perfectly still for it to stay within screen bounds. trackir works great in game.

There is no need for trackir to control the globe in the menu.

:white_check_mark: FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you? (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)

Moving the head always moves the globe. But right now, with trackir off, it is spinning crazily. Using Pause in trackir isn’t stopping it. It still tracks my head.

:white_check_mark: REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue.

  1. Enter free flight with trackir active
  2. Fly for a bit
  3. Exit to menu

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

I can report the same issue here, but I am using the Tobii Eye Tracker. It seems to be related to head tracking or movement of the globe in general.

• Yes.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• I cannot conceive of a reason that head/eye tracking should be tied to the globe visible throughout the UI. Please uncouple it. Like the OP, it makes me physically ill, as well.

• Yes, though I can ignore it.

• However, returning to menu from a flight makes the globe go crazy and no way to stop it.

• Yes, although there’s no need to fly first. It already does that for me when I start the sim.

• It’s very disorienting.

I have the same issue, but with Tobii. I have a button assigned to my yoke to toggle head tracking, and it works in the menu too, so that’s good. I’ve always felt (for 2020 too) that we should at least have the option to have head tracking off by default. I only use it occasionally, and never want it on when I first load the sim.

I also can’t disable eye tracking since going to sensitivity settings for Tobii crashes the sim. (I’d seen people mention that, but just tried it myself and can confirm)

I’m having the same problem in FS2024. I agree that there’s no good reason for TrackIR to function in the Main Globe Menu. Additionally the screen will begin to spin and flash crazily. It’s very disturbing and makes the game almost unusable.

as a workaround, for the time being, you can press F9 on the keyboard (TrackIR pause) while you are in the menu - then activate again with F9 ! at least until there is a solution !

I have confirmed @arniex78 that pausing TrackIR does not fix the issue, at least not for me. Once the spinning starts it cannot be stopped no matter what you do with TrackIR. The only way I’ve found to stop it is to go into the avatar editor and then return to the main menu.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

YES I have the same, using Track IR.

There’s no reason why head tracking should be on in the menus. Please set it back the way it was in MSFS2020.

Do the LEDs on the TrackIR really turn red? (F9 also defined as such)? should not actually be, since the ‘turn command’ comes from the TrackIR, it should not be ! BR !
