Using the replay function as a game save?

there is a Save/Load Function during flights in the menu. Why not use this?

When the in-flight Save function is used, the subsequent Load of that flight has had multiple issues since the issues were first reported in December 2020. While the status is bug-logged, all of the issues are still not fixed:

Hello, I am encountering a problem where I cannot change the weather, the date and time of day after loading a saved flight! Neither can I access the quick toolbar during the flight. I can access the Toolbar normally if starting from scratch. But after loading a saved flight, the Toolbar is gone! Does anyone else have this problem? If so, any temporary/permanent solutions to this? Thank you!
