VelocityOne Flight Universal Control System - Turtle Beach

I wonder if honeycomb users are having the same issues. Is it sincerely just the yoke or msfs itself?

One thing you can try if you are having difficulty with the Turtle Beach Velocity One Yoke is to Recalibrate it. Turtle Beach has instructions on their web site that explain the procedure involved. The process takes about 5 minutes. If that fails try taking the yoke back to the factory default firmware by using the Recovery Tool which is downloadable. You need Windows 10 or 11 to use it.

Hi.
Thanks for your reply.
I’ve tried to search for recovery tool but with no success.
May you provide me a link to download the tool?
Thanks ina advance

Hi.
I’ve contacted TB support regarding this issue.
This is their reply:

Thanks for reaching out

An issue has been identified with the latest Version 1.3.3 firmware update for the VelocityOne Flight controller. The most common symptom is that the throttle quadrant is not reliably detected.

A new version (1.4) is in the works, and should become available soon.

In the meantime, you can roll back the firmware to Version 1.1.0. …

Hey James, any idea where I could go to get replacement bolts for the VelocityOne? I put my device away when done using it and the metal of the bolts are relatively soft. They have worn to the point that the threads don’t catch when tightening anymore. Any help would be appreciated!

Just a quick question for those on Xbox that doesn’t warrant it’s own thread.

I have my controller set to ‘capture screenshot’ when the share button is pressed in the system options.

However, when I connect the velocityone it changes both the yoke share button and the controller one to ‘capture clip’. The system menu settings aren’t changed, but I can no longer take screenshots ( and I keep accidentally making video clips when I sit down😂)
Also, the Velocityone doesn’t show as an attached peripheral in the system menu.

Any advice on how to change it?

I just bought my velocity one and I can not get it to update no matter what. I do not touch the mouse or keyboard or velocity one at all. I just keeps saying update failed. Do you think you could help me out?

Hey James! I just got my velocity one flight controller and it does not want to update. I have tried everything! Do you think you could send me the app to reset the controller?

Hi! I would recommend you join the Official Turtle Beach Simulation Discord for help regarding your issue. There are more people active there to assist you. Here’s a link to the Discord → Discord

Thank you so much!

I’ve had the new Velocity One for 4 days now so thought I’d give my honest opinons of the entire system including the SIP which I’ve also got.

Good things:
Fantastic trim wheel, one of the best and for the money the best on the market in a system of this type.

The yoke might be a little light for some tastes, but I like it, it’s smooth and beats my old logitech hands down. Adding a dead zone is a must though I think.

Throttle action is a bit light but I now have the four engine control I needed and workarounds to stiffen them up are on the forum already so no big deal.

Now we get to where a great product falls downright flat on it’s face and I’m talking about firmware and software here. I’ve emailed Turtle Beach expressing my displeasure at just how tough it is to configure, update and badly written software can ruin an otherwise good product. Getting the SIP to work properly took me a full day and workaround after workaround to get it working. Many folks have described issues with it here so I won’t bore you with reiteration. Suffice it to say that its fussy, won’t work at all out of the box ruining an otherwise good experience and turning it into a slog.

I’ll; give the product itself a solid 8 out of 10, but bad software, failed firmware updates which I eventually obtained from a Reddit user who helped a lot make the software 2 out of 10 just due to it’s existance at all.

In conclusion, a good product wrecked by poor software implementaion and TB know it. I can’t tell you how many times it nearly went back in it’s box for return. Now that it works, the order in which you have to get it to run, the fact that the sim must be started in bordered window mode, and the overcomplexity of the installation process make this very very unfreindly for even an average Windows user and I’m quite good with it overall.

Now that it’s running it’s a keeper but Turtle beach must do better. This should be an out of the box simple install and it just isn’t

The company have yet to reply to my email but they have acknowledged recipt.

What is a great value product is badly marred by poor software, unclear and badly written instructions which contradict each other sending the user down multiple rabbit holes of frustration.

There, it’s off my chest and now that it’s working I am slowly configuring the buttons to my liking.

Not a rant to put you off the product, just a heads up that if you get stuck, and I know many have returned first deliveries for replacement which I can only ssume have up to date firmware and make for an easier process on install.

agreat value product, but TB you must sort out your software and startup procedures. If anyone is really stuck message me and I will try to walk you through the steps I took to finally get it to run correctly.1

Hi ..I experienced the same issue .. yoke wasn’t recognized by Win 10 .. do this: go to device manager, go to xbox peripherals , double-click it , go to Driver , go to update , choose 'browse my computer , choose 'from-a-list , finally choose ‘xbox gaming device’ .. enter .. it now shows up as an ‘HID’ device , and also under ‘sound-devices’ as an ‘HID’ device .. of course, the yoke must be connected when doing this .. worked for me after a looong hair-pulling period , even T.B. couldn’t help! .. GOOD LUCK!

try this
works like a charm

Firmware 1.4 dropped last night. Install failed on first try. Worked on 2nd attempt. (Xbox)

I rolled back to 1.1 a month ago because of the constant losing of controls in 1.3.3 and at this point don’t see any reason to update to 1.4 since 1.1 has been working without issue for me I don’t care about the sip lights. I like the v1 controls but don’t trust their firmware updates anymore (I’m on PC but I think there was same problem on xbox if I recall on 1.3.x)

Does v1.1 also fix the USB connect issue where the yoke must be powered on after windows has booted?

If so then i’ll look into downgrading too.

Great…I’ve been looking forward to firmware update 1.4, but if it screws up the SIP panel then maybe I will wait. So far I have only had one incident where I lost aileron control of my aircraft. I will see what develops with this. Thank you for your comments.
