since it just feedback logged, they didn’t start to work to fix this.
Just making sure no one gets hyped up a potential fix in SU12. In the beta (thanks to the above) the issue still exists
Today between 15:30Z and 15:50Z:
Northern Germany is covered by high clouds, Altostratus:
Everything fine and as expected when entering the sim around 15:30Z:
And suddenly, somewhere around 15:36Z: Mount Doom errupted again:
Utterly nonsense, did not have anything like that since SU11!
this has been the case for me ever since su7, if there is a weather front I get CBs, even if I am in the artic…
Left my aircraft for an hour, came back to find my aircraft upside down in the ocean, look at my screen capture and a sudden change from 40 knots to 120knots disconnected my autopilot while I was AFK, Please sort this Asobo, this is not a feature by any stretch!
In the first Moment i was happy that Asobo has fixed the problem with the eratic wind behaviour but i was on final in NZAA with 010 7 kts wind and it feels like stronger than that.
And the wind speed jumps like crazy up and down and the wings was formed like a wave and tired me to push on the right side with allmost full input of the yoke.
the end of that was a landing without flare.
Where did you see that issue has been fixed ?, it is feedback-logged so no fix has been implemented yet.
That sounds like thermals. They seem extremely exaggerated as you constantly hit updrafts. You can be on the glideslope on approach and all of a sudden you are climbing 1000 FPM and have to add extreme corrections to the yoke.
Flying the pmdg 737 on the way to Iceland I noticed very abrupt and violent wind behaviour at 34000 feet.
I think since the su11 the Thermals are really strong.
In addtion with the constantly changing of the wind it is really impossible to land.
Before the update i have no problem with winds etc and now it feels like you flying thought a Hurricane.
Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?
No
Have you disabled/removed all your mods and addons?
N/A
Brief description of the issue:
This has been an issue from the past several sim updates which still doesn’t seem to be fixed. I’ve only really encountered this at cruise. Every 10-15 minutes the wind changes very abruptly, causing the aircraft to either stall or go into overspeed. It is infuriating that this bug still exists in the sim and quite frankly a joke that it hasn’t been fixed. The wind changes I have experienced in a three hour flight has consisted of the following:
from 290/140 to 270/90
from 270/159 to 270/101
from 280/100 to 280/140
Myself and several mates have encountered many more wind changes previously which obviously isn’t worth writing down. Surely this bug should be at the top of the list to be fixed as its directly effecting critical stages of flight. We have tried multiple aircraft (i.e PMDG 737, Fenix A320, FBW A320) and all experience the same issues across the globe.
Provide time & date of the observed Weather issue
Multiple with no pattern to the changes
Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:
Can be experienced at any point in the cruise
PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:
Since SU5 the bug has been pretty on and off but has since come back worse since SU10
these have been delivered with the lates beta for testing. I encountered a lot of abrupt changes, so really looking forward for my six hours flight to see how is the weather now
Hey,
Which BETA version is this? I can’t seem to see those changes in the latest BETA changelog, I only see the ‘General live weather improvements’ and ‘cloud ghosting’, but not the other changes about servers, local time etc
On the forum’s version, yeah, that is all just a few lines, but if you have opened the changelog during install, you would be able to see these details as well. (This is the .19)
Ahh I see, yet to install the update but about to now Thanks for the info
I left a few posts here in the last half a year as I was struggling with this big time… today I flown with my friend at the same time, while he’s on the V1.30.12.0 and myself used 1.31.19.0
While he reported abrupt weather changes I didn’t see anything on my side.
So far so good with rendering clouds and pressure/wind change, but time will tell.
Not fixed! I encountered major wind changes again after the update!
abrupt change of wind has been a thing since at least SU9 (i.e. since I joined), and extreme gust frequency has been a thing since they introduced gust back (I think that’s SU10?)
There has been minimal improvements in gust, but nothing else.
Yesterday I just literally got dumped TWO overspeed events in a row in a very specific, known, never changing “sudden wind shift and turbulence” area, that has been there since last September (and the shift border is too long to circumvent).
Not fun when you are flying for a VA and actually gets poor pilot evaluation because of somebody else’s fault.
you’re absolutely correct, I being only lucky that day, thus I created a post with feedback and a video in the beta section.
That’s why I dropped that line in my last post (time will tell). Didn’t age well
During few online flights the PMDG 737 for the last few days I’ve cought extrimely abrupt and violent up to 50 knots wind behaviour at FL340-370.
So, as a result, I’ve got penalty in my VA for speed exeded.
I hope, this problem will be solfed in nearest future!
Twice its happened enroute from EGLL-LXGB, Once at 10:00 Z and another at 11:00 Z
