It will take longer after an upgrade and after you have cleared out your caches and rolling cache.
It will also take longer if you have any software running in the background that uses the internet, for example a bit torrent program.
So you really have to narrow down the circumstances and state which version you are using.

Since we have no information as to a plane, place, platform, or anything really lol did my own test on a few aircraft spawns at LAX on PC and Xbox to see if anything seems out of place with load times on 1.7.7.0, and from my experience everything loads fine with no abnormal load times from this test and just regular use of the Beta.
Each test was timed from “Start Flight” in the free flight menu to when it is loaded in the sim and at the “Ready to Fly” point.

Seems like I have the same problem.
I was doing fine today, but all of a sudden, when I click anywhere on the map to start a freeflight, after I chose the location and starting place, the map goes into top down hover but hangs there endlessly.
Location or aircraft doesn’t matter.
All I can do is press ESC and then get back to the menu. But the flight doesn’t load.
BTW, same for career mode. Flights aren’t loading anymore.

There was a bug report on this:
that was marked as fixed-on-live back in December. This may be a regression then.
It’s working again for me, I guess it was just temporary.
Loading time so slow. Never had this before latest Beta.
