I hope you don’t mind me posting this here. I’ve just finished building my Dad a new Flight Sim PC to replace his much older PC and wanted to share it with you.
Having played Flight Sim X for many years, he can now experience Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!
What a truly kind and thoughtful Son you are !
My Dad served 33 years in the RAF including nearly 4 years as a POW in Burma and It would’ve been so good to give him the same Gift of Flight that you’ve given to your dear Dad.

Now that your Father has this very capable PC will he be sharing his knowledge and expertise with the Flightsim Community ? This would be a much appreciated and valuable contribution.
We have many great Reviewers who contribute to the Forum but there aren’t many with combat hands on experience of War Birds and Lightnings.

Hi Wristy, thank you for the thought. He wasn’t a combat pilot but was lucky enough to have the opportunity to fly in both the Lightning and Hunter over 50 years ago, along with other aircraft.
He is a private person and doesn’t use things like this so it is unlikely he will. I mentioned the ability to play multiplayer on the flight sim but again I don’t think it’s something he is interested in.
The Lightning has always been his favourite aircraft, breaking many records. I wasn’t sure if a Lightning model was being created for MSFS so it’s exciting to hear there might be… and if so I’ll try and take some screen footage of it myself and post it - thank you.

What a lovely video! Here on the Microsoft Flight Simulator team, we always get a thrill whenever we see players bonding with their parents or other family members by using MSFS. Please tell your father we wish him many happy hours in the virtual skies.

This definitely is a wonderful thing you have done for your father. My son (an IT guru) helped me in a major way to build a new PC for me to enjoy FS2020. I am 72 years old.
