Vision Jet G3000 Avionics & Map Instability on PS5

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

The avionics displays (Primary Flight Display PFD, Multi-Function Display MFD, and the three smaller Garmin displays) in the Cirrus Vision Jet consistently crash, turning completely black.

In addition, the navigation map displayed on the MFD exhibits erratic behavior:

• The map zooms in and out and changes angle/orientation autonomously.

• The aircraft icon (representing the Vision Jet) is often replaced by a simple dot (waypoint/nav target icon) or disappears entirely.

The avionics failure can lead to a complete loss of critical flight information and navigation capability, rendering the aircraft unflyable on instruments.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

• Every flight without fail.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

1. Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator on the PS5 console.

2. Start a flight (either Free Flight or Career Mode mission) using the Cirrus Vision Jet.

3. Load a flight plan and begin the flight (issue may manifest on the ground or in the air, but typically occurs early in the flight or after a period of flight).

4. Fly for a short period (e.g., 5-15 minutes).

5. Observe the avionics screens. The screens will often go black, and the map display will begin to exhibit erratic zooming/panning/orientation changes.

• Note: The issue may be more likely to occur after performing taxing, take-off, or when the system is under higher load (e.g., in a busy airport, complex weather, or after repeated switching of camera views).

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

I am experiencing the exact same issue on PS5 with Hotas 4. I’m in PC 24 and mfd, pfd, copilot pfd and transponder all have turns in switching on and off. Black screens or GPS losses.

I read online that there is a Hotas issue with Thrustmaster products and the auto start features on the controller. I don’t know if it is a factor or not.

I hope not because I rather like the fast starts!

This same behaviour is also on C172, Bonanza, DA62, Vision jet

I’ve been having this issue with the G1000, G3000, and G5000 in the PC-24. Honestly, the only planes that seem unaffected are the airliners; they run perfectly without any crashes or reboots. Since there aren’t many PS5 users on this forum, the bug isn’t getting much attention, so I’m worried it won’t be fixed anytime soon.

Everything was fine until that first hotfix for the helis, but it’s been a nightmare ever since. When the system reboots, it completely glitches out your flight plan and any details you’ve entered. It also messes up your approach and won’t even let you activate it.

100%. I’m also having messages in PS5 with pc-24 telling me I must not go above 200kts when I’m under 10,000ft. BUT I’m at 30,000ft. The throttle is just dying and switching off the AT. Is it just us with hotas 4?

Or is the last update just altogether killing off Career mode. I have never known it to be this bugged. :cockroach:

Were you using the hotas 4 on Xbox too? If yes, was it possibly causing the same issues with the Thrustmaster products?

Are you comfortable testing removing the autostart binding on the hotas 4 to test if there is a conflict with the controller (or the other way around, I can’t recall). If yes and it is that, could you let me know how please?

I have been getting those same notifications myself. You can stop them by going into the assistance settings and toggling off “piloting and control notifications.” That should solve the annoyance.

As for the auto-throttle, mine keeps disconnecting randomly throughout the flight. A black square appears in the bottom right corner every time it happens. It is clearly a bug, which is frustrating because the game actually runs quite smoothly otherwise with almost no stuttering. Just a heads-up: don’t try increasing the sim rate, as that just breaks the flight entirely.

I tested my HOTAS on Xbox the other day, it’s the white one and it worked perfectly, so the issue seems specific to this setup. Even after remapping every button on my joystick, the avionics still glitch out. It has been a nightmare since the last update; I really hope the developers are aware of this and have a fix coming soon.

Thanks for the info. Avionics glitching out is a real pain, particularly when you are trying to see something or adjust something. I just had to switch off AP on approach and make judgement calls!:grimacing::sweat_smile:

These glascockpit crashes happen for me on ps5 (basic version, not pro) with all (!) glascockpits. G1000, G3000, Honeywell, etc. I had even the mini digital artificial horizon in the Saab crashing…

This such an annoying bug, as it happens also in the most critical flight phases like final approach. It happens completely random and so, so, so often during even only one flight. Sometimes even at mission start while taxing to the runway. I have it sooooo often. Please give this a hotfix. Please do not wait until SU5. Please please !!!

I have no flight without those crashes. In most flights it crashes 5 times and much more often.

Today I bought the vision jet myself. I noticed, that the autothrottle of this plane on PS5 is randomly is deactivated, even a smooth ascend. I am not sure, if it is tied to the glascockpits and their subsystems going through resets or if this is an issue on its own on PS5. I noticed the same on the pc 12 ngx. Maybe it is a symptom of the glasscockpits crash regularly.

I believe the issues are linked.

Personal Comments and Observations

It’s end of year, manning is low based on holiday. I recommend PS5 users open a Zendesk Ticket using the Sim Support link at the top of every forum page. That goes directly to Microsoft for triage.

I have the same problems people described here and I’m not using Hotas, just the dual sense, mouse and keyboard!

This has cost me a whole mission today. Plane was on an ascend. I set up autothrust significantly below the max velocity. I left the plane just for a moment, relying that, the autothrottle would limit the speed as set when reaching cruise altitude. I came back from the bathroom: plane in slight overspeed, and than “You crashed your plane” message in smooth flight. Yeah, great. Having to pay for doing nothing wrong… great.

Did you set the speed bugs to 85 for t/o and climb to 165? Clicked the Toga button and FMS? And also AP.

She is a tricky little plane. Sorry about yours being lost, what a pain.

It was the vision jet. I set the speed to manual and set it to 220 kts for the last climbing phase knowing that i won’t get that fast while climbing but will limit the speed once leveled out. I came back and the jet flew on 250 kts (red blinking, indicated Airspeed, not TAS) on horizontal flight, due to the AT disabling itself. Few seconds later: the message, that my plane crashed. It never left the horizontal path. The game just killed the flight

Not just the hot as, happens on controller too

All of the glasscockpits crash constantly…. All of them…

Tried today a Cessna Longitude. I didn’t even start to taxing. I just sat at the parking and tried to get to know the Avionics. They even crashed while the plane was not moving at all. This is so crazy. How could this slip through the Quality Assurance? I just tried to learn how to operate the plane while being parked.

The avionics and throttle bug emerged after the first hotfix. Early access and the initial launch were fine, but the latest update broke most planes. Only airliners seem unaffected, with their avionics and autothrottle working as intended.

I really hope, that they revert the hotfix (for whatever it was). Many planes are at the edge of unplayable.

The most frustrating part is that you can’t leave the game unattended; if the throttle disconnects, you could return to a crashed plane. As a result, you’re tethered to the computer until the flight is finally complete.
