World Updates normally just include a few hand crafted airports and detailed points of interest. But the latest UK one also includes much more detailed terrain throughout the UK but that will only help when you are close enough for it to load - which some days involves being landed on it
World Updates have other programming in them as well. We know this because there is usually a mandatory update along with the WU that is issued. I can also verify this is true because I have deleted all WU’s and the loading into the sim and into airports is dramatically different. There are additional things included with the WUs.
That’s because the loading screen changes, the sim version number doesn’t. The first few world updates contained some sim updates too, but that was changed to not include sim update with world updates.

Slightly off topic but we so badly need a proper Paris update. More details on this thread:
So, they don’t make the world…more detailed? Just POI’s and custom airports?
It varies from update to update. Many if not most include improved satellite imagery and/or improved mountain and elevation geometry data. So textures are often sharper and mountains are often more realistic after a WU, but this is not always the case.
So at your behest, I tried PG with Bing turned on, suffice to say seems ok but uber micro stutters (and I mean slight). Breaks the immersion for me. You see my distaste for not using PG and wondering why a lot of users use it is based on the first 2 years into MSFS where it was not very desirable to use it due to its lack properly displaying the world. It reminded me of a world after a nuclear holocaust. So I basically said “Note to self”, “we’re not going do that again”, so I never did up until now. BUT, this was only a test for me to try it after the last 4 years of doing this. Will I keep it on…no…I have no need for it, I’m ok with generic scenery with Bing and PG turned off. The less memory or bandwidth I have to use for the “X” console…the smoother it runs. Like I’ve stated before I have Standard content (and now) Deluxe an Prem (ownership from day one). Upgrades installed and a few aircraft (8 of em) and that’s it. It’s running fine now after me resetting both consoles. I have the same amount of stuff installed in my “S” console too and its running fine now too. if its not broken they say don’t break it. I’m just a less is more guy to keep things running smoothly. Regardless of what I have turned on or off or installed I can still fly and enjoy the SIM in my own way of which I am. NOTE: I’m flying with just a keyboard, mouse, game controller and recently bought another joy stick to fly the Bell Flyinside 206. I’m a casual flyer, I don’t it seriously as other folks but I sure can fly with less.
I don’t think the FPS is that great in that helicopter. I often restart the sim after a few flights.
The only issue I have with the Flyinside Bell 206 is theres a slight flash of a pilot in the seat when switching from external to internal view. I asked “RotorRick” about it and he said its a Microsoft glitch (his actual words) and that he’s aware of it. Other than that Its the only Heli I fly now and I’ve bought quite a few (not installed of course). In fact I’m gonna tour LEPP as we speak.
So far I dare say PG is a lot better than it was in the beginning, interesting
How frequently do Devs check these forums?
I hope they release a fix for LOD and photogrammetry popping soon rather than make us wait for SU16.
Ah. Good to know. Thanks
It looks like the photogrammetry loading in patches around the aircraft and popping in/out of view as you pan the cam is not just a Paris issue; it’s mostly a world issue where there’s photogrammetry. AI gen structures look fine but then the textures or mesh around them can look quite blurry.
Absolutely nothing helps. I haven’t tried playing with live weather off but that’s pushing it a little! I’m already playing half a bare bones game by reducing the sliders to 50-60 and live AI traffic off with RC set to 120gb.
Nothing helps. I don’t even feel like flying at height now due to patches of photogrammetry popping up in front of me less than 6-8nm out!
What a sad state of affairs. I’m wondering if they will fully address this unacceptable nonsense with SU16.
It seems, since the last update that we’ve now had 2 560mg patches. There was one just yesterday. Going through the notes there was nothing mentioned regarding memory management system. Or has it secretly been fixed, adjusted? Don’t know!
As it stands, from the outside, this doesn’t seem to be a priority for them. Maybe it’s another team who are involved in it?
The deadly silence from them doesn’t help with the speculation and endless posts of dissatisfaction.
Is not possible for someone from the dev team to post? Say something on the threads that could help clear up the situation. An acknowledgment? Some advice? Or tell us that they believe that there isn’t a problem, something.
If this has to wait until beta perhaps that’s the time to really make some noise about increasing the LOD / pushing out the draw distance because it seems like they’re not going to throw out some patch.
Again, the silence, from them, is really bad forum as it leads to so much speculation and annoyance and a lot of wondering.
I imagine you have another issue going on if you think it’s ps2/360 levels of detail.
They have logged the bug, so they are aware, I’m sure a fix will come soon. And if su16 is indeed coming in September, I can see a beta coming very soon hopefully.
wat is not ok,is that no one tell us a patch is in work and when we get it,also if there a plans to fix the servers, wat i think is also a big problem since su15…and i am on pc,there is the same mess since. if i fly when not to much other fly it work better, and it is not my internet.
was a lot better before su15!
Look at the videos I posted here
Can anyone recommend any areas to fly in that have little/no blurries on xbox.
Before or after the release of MFS24?
This thread gives current info. Apart from that who knows exactly?
