PLease add VKB Gladiator NXT to your options, great stick but needs you to recognise it. I programm it but it keeps failing. Please add it.
Does it appear in the controls as a big grey question Mark? If so, it doesn’t mean it won’t work, it just doesn’t have a default profile, and you have to make your own.
When you say you program it, and it fails, what did you program, and how did it fail?
My KBsim Gladiator is working, but still tweaking sensitivities. Had to manually configure everything of course.
Drives me crazy, I have to configure everytime I use it. I had the original MS Flight sim and I could plug in basically any joystick & get flying. This 2020 version is too overbuilt for it’s own good, there was nothing wrong with the original. Well they have replied to me and said that there are too many sticks & they can’t configure them all. My reply if they are looking is just do the good ones of which VKB Gladiator is one.
I meant configure not program. I have to do this everytime I use and then it is only limited. Rudder on Runway doesn’t work plane veers off. Terrible & I am regretting buying. It is obvious that the sim is still under development. My old XP MS Flight sim worked perfect, never a bother now it all sits in it’s boxes. Was so looking forward to this version. Hugely Disappointed in the whole thing.
I’m using the VKB gladiator nxt flightstick, as well. You are right there is no pre configured setting for this stick but I set it all up ones and since then the stick is working perfectly. Do you save your flightstick settings in a new profile?
Yes I do. I don’t have foot pedals or a separate throttle but program what I need for simple flight (no jets) but always somethings wrong. Happy to hear yours works okay so guess i’ve just got to keep trying. MS say there are so many sticks & they can’t profile them all. There are not that many good sticks and VBK is one of the quality ones, Come on MS, include us. ( Please)
Yes it is a very good stick. Tomorrow I will be home then I will post some pictures of my flightstick settings. Maybe it will help you.
Thank You.
Sorry, I misread that as rudder, not stick for some reason. My apologies! Serves me right for posting at 2AM.
Below is my configuration for my yoke.
Something I have been meaning to “fix” for a while, are the messed up external views set in the default profile. The diagonals are not configured correctly, with some left/rights swapped over.
Thanks for the views settings. Will try that. Did you have sensitivity changes or are you using default?
Mine is 0 across the board, no dead zones.
“there are too many sticks & they can’t configure them all.”
This is a very poor response on a couple of levels.

There aren’t actually they many sim peripherals on the market. It’s a very niche hobby and there just isn’t a huge volume of different products.
-
They pretty much all work using the same principles and API.
-
It doesn’t actually address the issue that you are having. (Loss of config that you have created.)
Just got this joystick, frustrating that it needs to be set up, but once done, and saved as a profile, it works. I’ve got yoke, stick, rudder pedals…save as a profile and they all will maintain their settings. Not done configuring the stick, but I have seen a Reddit post linking to a decent joystick mapping layout.

And remember that you need to bind to analog. HTH.
Plugged my Gladiator in fresh from the box two three weeks ago and like as mentioned the question marked showed up but carried on and set up the controls and it works well.
Yes, that grey question mark doesn’t mean the device won’t work, only that Asobo have not created a default profile for it. Bing the right axes, and away you go!
I’m guessing the input device preset profiles will be for the console kids.
Binding my own input controls is the way I have always approached PC gaming.
(But then again, maybe this is also because I am left handed and have always had to re-bind even default keyboard controls so I’ve never thought it was an inconvenience to bind joysticks etc)
It’s just useful to have the ability to save different controller configs for different planes.
I mean the “does your joystick look like the one in the picture - here’s a preset profile we spoonfed you” type profiles.
To your point though…
Having the ability to have different profiles is useful and hopefully in the future they might expand upon and fine tune this so that we can actually have real profiles dedicated to an aircraft or aircraft type which collect all controllers together and possibly even auto select themselves when that aircraft type is selected for flight.
This is down my list of priorities for right now. I would like to have the Devs focus on performance and stability issues first
Thanks for all the replies and apologies for delay. Have got to the bottom of things - seems that Gladiator is not recognised but despite that it works and can be “banded” without any problems. Thanks again.
