Been away for a minute from MSFS. I have G2 with 4090RTX and Open XR, purple goggles, etc. Do I need to tweak any VR or OXR settings following the SU14 update? What are the optimum G2 and Nvidia settings now? I’m still running in DX11 with an older DLSS version.
Using G2 with 4090/13900, no changes made to config, performance for me same as SU13 or may be smoother.
DX11, TAA, scaling 120% in sim, TLOD 250, OLOD 250, everything in ultra.
With Fenix A320 + FSTL + GSX + others I get high 20s fps at difficult custom airports, +30 fps in flight or at less demanding custom airports.

I can see no benefits of using DX12 with 4090 in VR. DX12 is still considered experimental by Asobo, due to risk of CTD. Frame Generation on 4xxxx series GPU is not supported in VR.
Well that’s weird. I have been using DX12 ever since I got a 4070 about 6 months ago and I am using VR. I haven’t had any issues with CTDs or duplicate scenery. I thought that DX12 was smoother for me but I am going to go back and give DX11 a try.
Same here. On 4080, G2, Hags on, game on, reprojection off, DLLS Quality, been using DX12 with low latency+Boost in sim. No crashes. Prior to SU14 I tested Dx11 vs 12 (hags/game) and found DX12 with Hags on+game mode on performed way better in terms of fps and overall smoothness.
However after SU14 I am getting a bit more stutters, perhaps they are CPU related. So been testing different setting in OXR, toolkit, and sim to get back to around mid 40’s fps.
Ive been using DX12 since upgrading to a 4090 and have had no issues, also running a pimax crystal, but I have recently made some major changes with DSR and DLSS. I’ve turned on DLDSR (Deep Learning Dynamic Super Rendering) and installed DLSS 3.5.1 (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and have seen a huge performance increase in both 2D and VR. IslandSimPilot has put out a tone of YT videos explaining what each of these do, and wow. The AI is only getting better with each iteration. Even flying in NY City with mostly ultra settings is mostly smooth, maybe some slight jitter when pulling tight turns in the HB/IFE F14 (hahah)….
YT video is about flat screen. How do you use DLDSR with Pimax Crystal?
Do you use it to super sample VR image instead of just supersampling by increasing the resolution in the OpenXR Toolkit (OXRT)?
What resolution do you set in the OpenXR Toolkit?
Unlike the YT video author I’m not main thread limited (7800x3D, 4090) I’m GPU limited (4090 running close to 100%). What is the effect of DLDSR on the FPS with GPU already fully loaded?
I tried DLDSR with Crystal and OXRT and I would say it has no effect on VR. I checked the resolution display in the Develpoer Mode FPS counter - enabling or disabling DLDSR doesn’t change the resolution in VR. The only thing it does in VR - it makes the FPS counter 2D window smaller (due to higher 2D resulution).
