Warning: Your graphics device has encountered a problem

That IS very frustrating. I hope that the cable company is able to improve your MSFS experience! I will be very interested to hear the results.

My cable company is so inept its sad. One person tells me one thing, another tells you completely the opposite, and another will tell you those other two guys are nuts and shouldnt be doing tech calls. Ive shown them the problem in real time when there here and one says oh we dont do anything about latency, another one that said that is a serious problem analyze a bit and come back and say they have to replace the line to the road and they would be out in the spring … never happend ;p

I was just getting ready to get them to either give me a lower speed plan or just cancel altogether and just use my phone for internet when I need mail. I have that ā€˜other’ sim and even the prebeta works great and it doesnt require a clean internet connection / coupled with clean servers .. IMHO

can only repeat what @DensestSnail693 already mentioned: not let run your gpu allways in full load. Enable Vsync so not render more than you monitor can handle. But this might possible not sufficent and you have to set a max fps limit in nvidia control center.

Also, for the main menu dont forget the new Low-Power-Mode in Experimental settings.

Also, there are still some other very excellent settings recommendations for those using 20xx and older GPUs here:

The best settings for Microsoft Flight Simulator | PC Gamer

Just had this issue with a 6800 XT, I believe because I started watching YouTube. So perhaps it’s related to using hardware acceleration in other programs simultaneously.

This is note worthy - I enabled XMP for memory in my bios. Was impressed with how MSFS was running but this led me to this error/crash. I have since lowered my memory speed without XMP and have not had the issue again.

This kind of ā€œfixā€ is IMHO just a side effect. The problem still there but don’t kick similarly. Same thing for drivers change, remove OC, lower settings, HAGS OFF or HAGS ON, etc.

I’m glad it work for you…for now…

After 2 weeks of no problem at all after fixing my FPS in nvidia controlpanel to caps 60, the problem is now back. This is getting really tiresome. Well, its a good effort releasing all this ā€œfreeā€ content, like the SU 11. BUT…the rocky road some of us are experiencing with CTD is not OK…

At all…

Taking another break from this game…

Sorry for my English, I hope you understand.
Hey guys, I’ve been facing the CTD issue for a very long time now. Before that, it crashed without error, now it says that my video card is overheating or the driver contains an error.
What didn’t I do?

  1. Disabled HUGS
  2. Tried dx11/dx12
  3. Completely reinstalled Windows 11.
  4. Installed fresh Nvidia drivers.
  5. Installed old Nvidia drivers.
  6. Turned off the monitors.
  7. Didn’t open any windows.
  8. Tried to play without mods.
  9. Reset BIOS settings including overclocking and XMP
  10. Went to church.
  11. Maybe I forgot something, tell me what’s wrong?

One of my concerns is in an effort to troubleshoot these issues, users are getting so far away from their standard PC configuration they are unknowingly developing or creating future issues when a hot fix is implemented.

Fair enough, you concluded it all.

Everyone can reset their PC and recalibrate, it is not difficult. As it is I’m certain Asobo and Microsoft test all their products on standard, up to date installations and what a user does to their PC should not be a concern for them.

its really bad to know this crash has been in the sim for a long time, & as others mentioned, it got very extreme in SU10.

LOL, xD

hope this issue wont last for long in this beautiful sim.

New Nvidia hotdix driver 526.61 released. Not tested yet

You sound like my wife

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

Are you using DX12?

Are you using DLSS?

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Completely disagree with this. Because you find it easy doesnt mean its easy or hassle free for everyone. Lots of other considerations to take into account when resetting a PC. Not everyone has a dedicated sim box and play on a shared device.

Plus, why should they?

Also, how big is the game install now? 150-200GB. Thats significant time on anything less than 100mbps, plus windows updates, drivers, apps, plus other games.

All because a sim update for one game was released?

Why should they what? … Not keep track of changes they made to their system? As if Asobo know what they’ve done!

Reset their PC lmao

Well Asobo can’t reset it for them.
And 150-200 GB - I don’t think so, maybe people should read instructions because it’s rarely more than 10GB.
