In preparation for WASM on Xbox support, a new add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator is now published to the Xbox Store (Microsoft Flight Simulator: Add-on Support).
This add-on is in a pre-release state and not functional—downloading and installing the add-on will have no effect on Microsoft Flight Simulator at this time. Once WASM on Xbox support is available, the add-on will update and automatically install when Microsoft Flight Simulator is launched.
We’ll have more details to share about WASM on Xbox support as we get closer to the release of Sim Update 12.
In preparation for the release of WASM on Xbox support and Sim Update 12 on 3/21, the Xbox WASM add-on (Microsoft Flight Simulator: Add-on Support) will be updated on 3/20.
WASM on Xbox support will be enabled on 3/21. You do not need to install or update Microsoft Flight Simulator: Add-on Support before 3/21.
Beginning on 3/21, Microsoft Flight Simulator: Add-on Support will automatically install or update to the latest version when Microsoft Flight Simulator is launched on Xbox.
Note for Xbox players: after you install SU12, the WASM add-on can take some time to download, and you can theoretically start a flight before it’s finished installing. We recommend waiting until the add-on is installed before flying.
Sim Update 12 is available now! Along with this update comes WASM support on Xbox. To learn more about what this means and how you may be affected, please see our FAQ document below:
