Yeah, was flying in Toronto one time a few months ago. Never again. Can’t stand those squares.
I’ve also noticed this around some airports, I reported this after SU8, but it’s still here after SU9. Oh well guess I’ll just avoid this airport for now. TFFJ by the way. Anyone else seeing this issue there? If not, what settings are you using?
It’s crazy this is still a thing.
Even more because it was already there in FSX and P3D… and never got resolved. Don’t ask me, what could potentially be so difficult in resolving this…
seems to be(finally) fixed with SU10’s BETA
The coastal regions near PG? Now that is good news. Hopefully that’s globally as it was a problem near Billy Bishop airport as well, if I recall correctly.
Im only talking about St-Barth
Havent test elsewhere sry
Tested at Lofoten Islands where the problem used to occur and indeed it’s gone with the beta, so I’d guess it’s a global fix.
Hello !
I don’t know where to put this, but here, around Inuvik (Northwest Territories, Canada), the terrain is made in regular patterns, tapestry-like pattern. This reduces immersion a lot…
I have perhaps solved it.
Last month this bug started to appear, after almost two years. It can be temporarily restored by “water waves” graphic settings (high → low), but this does not solve it (as Coleo91 mentioned). I tried to change other graphic settings, but no effect. I didn’t presume that it’s a hardware problem. But then i remembered that I have undervolted and underclocked GPU (to reduce heat emited to the room - because of this sweaty summer). I changed it back to my usual undervolted profile with standard 2250 MHz and this weird glitch disappeared. Voltage was apparently too low.
So try to disable GPU OC/UV tuning profiles.
My HW: Ryzen 5800X, Radeon 6800 XT.
Getting the same black square effect as @Orangina64 around St. Nazaire (DX12, RTX3090, VR - Oculus Quest 2)
All ultra settings with TLOD at 250 and had these patches show up on the Strait of Gibraltar. Happened also at 400. 7800X3D + 6800XT

after yesterdays Carib watermark update (1.36.2.0), exact position in upper left corner:
The issue described in the original post was fixed with SU10 (four confirmations in that topic on July 2022). Anything posted later than that are different issues, probably specific to some scenery or hardware configuration.
Resolved SU10.
